Is the dog's ears infected? Usually flys go after something that smells bad looking to lay eggs there. Make sure the dog's ears are clean by using peroxide and q-tips. Use a good dog shampoo with repellant.

SWAT it is a pink or clear ointiment made for horses.
It is safe to use on dogs and can be applied over open wounds.
It will stay for a few days and then you will have to re apply it.
Comes is a jar andcosts under $10 will last a long time and is the best stuff for flys.

There is a pink ointment (not sure of the name), but like vaseline, it will melt and/or fall off if applied to thickly. Use just enough to thinly cover the area. This will also make the dog less likely to rub it off.

there is animal fly cream accessible in maximum puppy shops. you in straight forward words rub it into the section. We used it for our horses , notwithstanding it didnt keep them off completly , they eased off and stoped irratation to the ears. i'm no longer certain what manufacturers are available in on your section yet i'm certain that in case you pass to a community puppy keep there'll be some type of cream on your situation. best of success.

go to your local farm store and get a product called war paint, it's a roll on fly repellent. It is safe for dogs I use it myself.

If you have some used motor oil, you can rub it into his ears, this works really well for outside only dogs. there is also a product you can get from your vet called flysoff, it is excellent.

They have fly repellents at your local pet supply store - they should be able to help you find the right type.
