The spirits that back religions, are permitted to survive based on the chemistry the Lord is seeking to achieve on the earth.

For example, God uses Islam for judgment. It has survived only to add a friction to Israel and others. Our nation was hit on 9-11 not because they got lucky, but because Jesus permitted it as judgment. Judgment you say? Oh, it's begun. The reverberations of it, are judging America still. I think God gives the people time to turn around and repent. America hasn't...so what's next I wonder? Does it make Islam right? NO, Islam is wrong and evil. The spirit behind Islam is permitted, as a means to an end. If people draw close to the Lord, these false religions would cease from the earth.

Therefore, the religions that survive, survive only as a means to an end. In the end, all will bow to Jesus.

ever since man developed a sense of spiritualiy, he has sought to explain his surroundings and the things he cannot control...
now, science came much later on, but before science man couldnt explain most of the things that were happening around him, so what could he resort to? he resorted to religion, he assumed that there was something out there that was unknown and more powerful than him that controlled all things, so man started believeing in a higher power, one that he could worship and that could satisfy his religious needs. he began by worshiping nature (the sun, the moon, the wind, fire) things that he couldnt control and didnt understand...

As time passed by and man developed; he started developing into a a more logical human being, started thinking scientifically, and started to understand many of the phenomenons unknown to him, this resulted in the death of many religions and the birth of many new ones, those that served this "developed" man's "developed" religious needs. This has been happening ever since, and now, one thing has been puzzling all men and their scientific theories: the creation of the universe and mankind...most of the religions which explain this in one way or another have survived due to the inability of man to explain it...

Religion is man made rules and beliefs. However i dont believe the bible is religion but it was actuall given to man from Him Through all these different authors of the Bible. Christ set the standered on how to get to heaven, to treat others, to worship Him, but man has steped in and though better of Gods Word or tried to interpret scripture without the Holy Spirit and thats why we have different religions. Theres money and power to be made in religion. Christs' standards and HIS "RELIGION" is the only true one. If you want to know the truth you have to ask, read the bible, and be patient.

I personally think it's because people know that there needs to be something else out there, or something else in themselves so they continue to push and seek and if need be create a religion that fits their personal needs. It's strange how even in the most remote places people who have never heard of a God still believe in worshipping the sun, or water or air or rocks or whatever just because they know something has to be bigger than them. You should look into early philosophy if you're interested in this sort of thing.

Satan is trying to blind people's minds to the truth. Revelation 12:9 says that he is misleading the entire inhabited earth. He doesn't want anyone to get to know God because he wants all the worship for himself and wants to prove that God's worship isn't good for mankind. So he sows seeds of untruth among mankind masking it as truth and light and many people fall for it. There is one true religion, though. It is the one that is following the Bible and Christ's footsteps. It's the only one that uses God's name (Psalm 83:18).

Because people chose not to accept God and made their own, the egyptians worshipped cats at one time, and karma and religion came about because people did not know of God, and they think that they have several lives, people were making false idols and worshipping things that were man-made, now false prophets come about and people are not grounded in their faith and fall to that, thats why it is important to spread the good new about Jesus Christ so people do not walk around in ignorance or be swayed in movies such as the davinci code. which is blastmophy.

10,000 years. What point of view do you take creationist or Evolutionist. If creationist it would be less than 10,000 years, if evolutionist it would be almost 200,000 years. The number of religions is probably much greater than 100,000 since it only takes 2 to make a religion.

I agree and disagree. Most religions are that way. Mine (Judaism) has been around for 5,000 years, but I believe that Judaism is less a religion and more just a system of law for an emerging nation (Hebrews).

God is a representation of goodness; the Devil is a representation of everything negative. This means also your fear to expand the mind: phobias, guilt, pain, etc. However you portray them, in a book with children's stories that adults have now learned to subscribe (bible) or by atheism, you can't deny the fact that throughout history God has been used to provide order and dominance, though often fear-based, and to the benefit of a few manipulators driven by greed and power who got the gold for their endeavors. Organized religion is the largest mass mind-control system ever developed, and it is proven. It still works to this day putting spiritual and psychological boundaries on humans who are now afraid to question what they have been taught over the centuries is a sin to consider. It is undeniable and sad. If you control someone's flow of information and instill their fears, you end up controlling their lives. The churches control all these lives, and in some case get 10% of their incomes a year for it.

The facts are that: *the church is the only FOR PROFIT organization in the world that pays NO TAXES to any government. *The largest single monetary holder in the world is the church, owing as much real estate as the government itself.

*More people have died for the church and for their religion than any war, disease, or natural disaster in the history of the world combined. *The war in Iraq is over God and Allah as much as it is for oil and freedom. I wonder if God or Jesus has ever seen a penny of that money. Whatever happened to spiritual freedom in between????

Like the drug industry, religion is also a huge business!
