Middle or index fingers plugging your ears, thumbs stretched holding your nose shut, hold your breath as long as you can, or better yet, have another person help you drink a glass of water while you're still holding your ears and nose shut. It either has something to do with equalizing the pressure in your sinuses (not likely) or is just a psychosomatic thing (more likely).

I always just hold my breath until I can't breath and repeat until they go away. They always go away doing this after a few minutes of doing so. It cuts off oxygen to the brain and should stop the worst of hiccups.

OK I just awnsered this Q last week. Get a glass of water put a spoon in it have someone plug your ears while you plug your ears(IM SERIOUS NO JOKE) while doing all this drink the water right down while looking at the spoon works 100% if the time sounds weird but all my freinds do now.

Get a glass of water with a straw, Hold your ears and nose shut (pinkies on the nose, thumbs in the ears), bend over, and drink the water down in one breath. Works every time for me.

If you can't handle that, put about 1 tablespoon of sugar in your mouth, push it with your tongue against the top and try swallowing.

Usually I try to put a paper towel over a glass of water and drink through the paper towel. Somehow it tricks your brain into thinking you're going to get more water than you actually will.
It also helps if you take a glass of water into your mouth, hold your breath for 10 seconds+, and then swallow.
It's worked on me, but I dunno if it'll work on you.

I've always had a glass of water, and drank it from the opposite side of the cup. It's a complicatd acrobatic maneuver but it's always worked for me.
