Actually I don't think most of us do. There are other things to be taken into consideration as humidity, etc. Here is eastern VA where it get very hot and humid we keep the inside at 63 in the winter so we don't get all stopped up from lack of moisture but 70-72 in summer so we can survive. It also depends on the house's insulation, any cross-drafts or open doors and windows. We finally went to an automatic controlled thermostat so we could afford the cost of AC and heat. Cut about 30% off our bills.

Because we love to be warm, the cold weather outside makes us freeze so we want to have that warmth of the Summer sun when we finally get a chance to go inside to warm up. :)
