How sad for your mother-in-law. It's her loss. Don't say anything. Her action speaks louder than words. Just be honest with your guests when they ask "where is the other grandma?". She'll end up looking bad by what she does, not what you say.

I would say something. But be very careful how you word it. And the tone you use when you talk to her. Point out that a child only turns 1 once and it is a special occasion. Actualy all kids birthdays are a special occasion. Point out that you can play bingo anytime. Good Luck

NOPE but my mother didn't come to her 7 yr old grandsons birthday party. She was "sick". LOL My father & sister came. My mother did send a delicious German Chocolate Cake that we all demolished!!!! LOL
Her loss sad to say. You always have the chance later on to RUB it in!!! LOL

Not my mother-in-law but my mother but it's sit at home and do nothing (she doesn't play bingo). Many times I've invited her over but she alwasy has better things to do

That's terrible. My mother in law always comes to the kid's parties, BUT always leaves early too. I wonder what it is with inlaws??
