Children repeat what they hear. So if you yell at them they will yell. It is best to change the tone of your voice rather that the level. This way they can learn the difference. Also if the child is laughing when you yell it may be that they are react ring to you as if they are not taking you seriously. Now granted a one or two year old is still trying to learn what it is you are trying to say so it may just take some redirection. If a activity is not acceptable behavior, change the tone of you voice and tell them NO ! and be stern. Then take there attention to so other activity or object that is acceptable. Good Luck

Bad you should never yell because it is teaching them that it is OK to yell. There is a better way than that. She is laughing because she does not take u seriously. It is evident that you do not carry through When you tell her no. Instead of yelling make her pick up the bowl. and tell her why it is wrong to do that and you are not going to put up with it and tell her that when she does it she WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES. An follow through. do not give up or give in. She may only be 1or 2 But if they know how to con their parents they are old enought to know better and learn!

Hey, we don't want to yell, but it happens sometimes. You just try to get yourself calmed down and go from there.
Just be consistent with the punishment--when my son dumps his food he has to sit in his highchair while I clean and he hates it. He would rather clean up the mess! For other issues, he gets a time out.
When I have one of those days where I think I have yelled too loud or too much, I take some time that night to recharge by reading or doing something I enjoy--shower, bath, whatever and tell myself tomorrow is another day and I will get up and do better. Sounds silly, but allowing yourself to make a mistake, learn from it and trying to do better lets you get rid of some of the guilt and start fresh.
Good Luck!

It is very bad to yell at a child, no matter what their age is. They are in the learning stage of their lives, so that would explain why they laugh when they drop something. It might seem funny to them. Gently teaching them is much more productive and less abusive than yelling at them.

It's never good to yell at a child. Rather, saying "I don't like it when you do...." and giving them words to use. It mistaken behavior..not misbehaving. It's a child not knowing what to do in a certain situation. Redirecting the child into a behavior that is acceptable is also good at this age. Laughing only reinforces the behavior and gives a child the go ahead to do it again.

Look, we are still human, even though we are parents.., it's going to happen, --she'll do something, you'll be having a bad day, or just tired of the behavior or whatever reason and you'll yell, just don't make a regular habit of it, or it becames like background noise to them. Moreover, don't use it as a parenting tool.

You should only yell at them when there is a real emergency; like they are about to run out into the road. They will pay more attention then, if that is the only time you yell.

Its not a good idea to yell at anyone . not a child . This will only scare them and you will not get any results that you were trying for.
