The Islamic history tells that prophet Muhammed was very sensitive to opposition. There are many stories about prophet Muhammed sending people to assassinate his opponents, but there is a really horrible story mentioned in (Sirat Ibn Hisham) that prophet Muhammed sent a man (with the name Talha Ibn Obaidallah) to burn a house where his opponents had a meeting at the time!

You can read the whole story (in Arabic) in teh following link:

My question is why prophet Muhammed had to follow such horrific ways to convince his people although he had the logic and the wonderful teachings?

Yeah, a lot of people in power aren't big on opposition. God threw Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden, the Spanish Inquisition burned anyone who they decided was a 'heretic", the British tossed Gandhi into prison, American cops beat and sicced dogs on people fighting for their civil rights, the S. African government did the same with Mandela. It takes a lot of balls to stand up for what is right - and sometimes you have to pay the ultimate price.

He was at war. He tried to convert people to Islam, and he got chased out of Mecca. Then he converted Medina, and the two cities started fighting. The war ended when 10,000 Meccans went to Medina to burn it down, only to discover that Mohamed had built a moat around the city, so they gave up, after crying foul. Islam was forged by fire, not sacrifice.

You are just making it up. There's no evidence of that story. If Islam wasn't a peace loving religion then there wouldn't be 1.2 billion Muslims in the world today. Mash-Allah it's growing. May Allah bless everyone.

Because Islam is a peace loving religion.

now come on, that's really not fair. it's a bit like a Moslem saying "how come Christians killed people 1000 years ago."
there are better things to talk about than that.

well, now, maybe he didn't have the logic and the power of teaching......or maybe he was insecure about them.
