I am told that women do not consider looks as highly as men do, but rather other issues like stability, security, and overall respect for her. Is that true and do I have a chance if I'm not a 'Brad Pitt' or 'Tom Cruise' type?

Everyone has a chance. It is in the way you go about it. Women are not all looking for the same thing. To some women, security and stability is what they need and want, and will search for that.
It's all in the presentation, and what you want from a relationship.

Women look for the total package, just like men do. If you are not making alot of money, then work on making more.
If you need help in the looks department, then go get a hair cut and some nice new clothes and ask the stylist for help.
If you want to know how you can attract women easy, then buy the book on body language by David Lewis.

Some women consider looks as important as men do. Some don't. Men are the same way. It depends on the woman. Even if you're not superfine you can still find the right one for you. Just play nice and women will respect you.

Be a good listener and yes, respectful. Looks are icing on the cake. We are happy with looks but if the package has everything else, you don't have to be Cruise. Also, I personally do not like a man who is TOO good looking because there is more competition to keep him!

Dude, Bard Pitt and Tom Cruise are not humans, they are just aliens covered with make up... (just kidding). In my opinion it is more about timing. Sometimes when you don't expect that girl to be with you, the girl will come to you. Sometimes when you act aggresively to get a girl, she will get away. I think it's more like just being yourself. Go for it!
