Are blacks prejudice against whites?

I have noticed that there are shows, movies, etc. where black people put down white people as a joke. If we did that to black it would be considered racist. What is the purpose of BET (Black Entertainment Television)? If we had a WET (White Entertainment Television) channel, it would be racist.....what a crock.

Many African Americans are prejudiced. I lived in Cincinnati for three years and noticed a disturbing trend of many black people blaming their problems on white people.

I agree with what you stated about there being all types of "black-oriented" channels and clubs that specifically target, and refer to, their people; this is a great example of a double standard. I have noticed the same thing with other races having exclusitivity in regards to organizations: Asian and Hispanic television stations and social clubs for example. If there was anything that referred to white people, it would definitely be considered racist. We have the liberal, PC-minded spineless masses to thank for not standing up for OUR rights. Amen!

I hate this stupid question. Of course blacks are prejudiced against whites, same as you're being prejudiced assuming that all black people would think WET would be racist. Like others said, how many black people do you see on prime time network tv? Other than the token "friend" or "neighbor" character? Grow up and stop using BET as your weapon in making the situation one sided. Besides that, BET is garbage.

Let's remember that prejudice is not racism. You can be prejudice against fruit. It's pre-judging. Just because someone (or everyone imho) is prejudice, it doesn't mean that they are not open to someone changing their opinion. It just means that their past experience has helped them form an opinion. Get over the contest of who is the worst and take some personal responsibility to be a good person. If everyone did that, this would be a nicer place to be.

Because whites have been at the forefront in their prejudice towards blacks, it was a total natural for blacks to develop a hatred and prejudice towards whites.

When MTV was created, it did not show any black videos. It showed mostly rock and pop. I believe that Michael Jackson and Prince were nearly the only two shown on the network for many years. (do you think that was racist?)

In response to this BET was created after MTV. At first it was just a two hour block of programming before it became a network. It would show mostly R&B, which was not being shown on any other network.

Since, music have evolved. BET plays mostly gangster rap and less R&B. That is just the way it is.

This would not be a problem if blacks weren't discriminated against in the first place. Now, we have a channel for different types of music. Have you seen the Country Music Channel? Rap, R&B, rock, and pop have no business on that channel. That does not make the channel racist. Not at all.

Think about radio stations. You know which ones play the type music that you like. They each cater to a different audience. It does not make the station racist.

Please stop using BET as an example because you are insulting me. I don't want anyone to think that I condone the gangsta trash that is BET programming. I do not agree with reverse racism for the sake of comedy. In comedy, anything does go.

To sum up, some blacks are prejudice against whites and some whites are prejudiced against blacks. It is a vicious cycle that continues round and round.

Can it be stopped. I don't see it in my lifetime. In efforts to correct the inhumane treatment that whites did against blacks, white people created things to level the playing field, as blacks were denied access to almost everything in the past.

Blacks didn't start this trouble. I think that everyone need to step back and agree to end this feud.

MOST channels are white and white oreinted.
And up until 50 years ago white people had programs where they put colored peole down and made jokes up until the 70's blacxplotation films.

The purpose of BET is to actually have a WHITE OWNED station cater to colored folks.

Of course people of color are prejudice of white folks. Did you think they would forget, did you think the blood would forget. They are prejudice like all that take pride in their race

Subconciously it is what all whites fear, to be treated as colored people were during slavery, and before christ.

I think whites are now feeling the pinch and are themselves lashing out.

The only crock I see is that no one wants to pay for what there forefathers did.

But just like if your mother dies without money , her financial burden becomes yours so do the actions of your fore fathers.

Well....think of it this way to get a better understanding.

I as a woman get really annoyed when men put down a woman. Yet it's okay for women to say all sorts of mean things to men. Do you wonder why THAT is?

Unfortunantly females were pretty much oppressed in every way imaginable (like sexually oppressed) for thousands of years...and the fact that we used to be controlled is in the back on many females minds. So I can see why people will let it slide when a woman says something mean about men.

Don't you watch lifetime, or The View. Talk about man-bashing! Geez!

Now you have another oppressed group of people that has something negative in the back of their minds too. Like africans (blacks) for example. It's the same concept.

Hopefully you get a better idea as why that is.

And I agree with you about it being wrong though. Nobody should put down anybody. It's just common sense, and respect. It just an unfortunante habit of double standards.

Well no all aren't the movies and all types of entertainment are not to put white people down it is just well entertainment. No one has stopped white people from gettinh WET it would entertainment for white people, just like BET is entertainment for black people, you must realize that in a lot of cases a lot of things that the stereotypical white person does is just funny.

Let me start by saying "We Were All Screwed" My opinion is that they need stations for all color. And blacks can have the same amount of time on the air as their forefathers did in that time. 100 for a 100. However, after that time it would be considered prejudice. What I don't understand is how people can take over other people. Slavery, Hussein, Hitler,and so forth. Sure the white are smart, the Chinese are smarter, sure blacks are naturally gifted in size and sports, the Chinese can almost fly. Can someone tell me what can the Hispanics do well?

Television is not real life. Television is about making money. Producers are concerned that if they put on a show, or a network, that offends too many people they will not be able to get sponsors.

Look at demonstrations. What groups of people are the most active? They are the ones that are able to influence TV shows.

Its because black people will always hold a sign to the fact that they were enslaved by white people.. It doesn't matter though - White people and Asian people get along great. Who needs black people anyway. I try my best to not deal with them in business and most of my Asian counterparts do the same.. With friends like them who needs enemies, ahh?? Anyway, Go to China or Japan, or any other asian country and ask those people what they think about black people or Africans...They can't stand them. The world is becoming a smaller place (business wise) and whites got a freind in ASIA. Not to get all religious on you,,,,but we are all God's children, and this is 2006~~~~ we found out when Katrina and Rita hit //that we would all come together no matter what your race~~~~ Yes, they have a BET..channel.. but so what..... and yes,,we can't have a wet...but ,,,,,, you have to admit...that there are more all white shows and commericals and signs..etc on t.v... so why not allow them to have it ,,,,,,,good for BET...

White comedians have put down Blacks for centuries as well as Blacks putting down Whites. It's called ENTERTAINMENT!!!! Everyone has something or someone that they are prejudice about. Its just the way life is. As for BET , white people do have ther own video stations It's call GAC and CMT. Broaden your horizons!!! Get Directv!!!!
