Those that lie will eventually get caught and of course they will get what is coming to them in the afterlife. The system is messed up for sure though, I didn't have insurance when I got pregnant and I was looking for assistance only with medical bills but had the same problem with my husband having too much gross income and of course they didn't look at the bills that I was obligated to pay. I don't know how much you make but look into WIC because that is a little more lenient than food stamps, you can make up to $30,000 a year and still be elegible if that applies to you. If not I do hope that you can somehow find some assistance.
God Bless!

I am sorry that you are learning this lesson as such a time that you should be basking in the birth of your new baby. Sad but true what you are saying is correct. The people that lie seem to get everything while people like you and I continue to be honest and reap the benefits of being honest. My ex was a compulsive liar and a drug addict, not known to me and she lied to me every breath. Long story short when it came to court I was not even afforded the right to speak or have input. I was deceived and lied to and the court awarded me child support for children that do not belong to me. She has continually used the judgement guidlines as a weapon on me and there is no one, no one that has listened to me. Our system does not reward honesty in any manner. It took me a long time to learn that as I was taught otherwise. If our government lies to us, creditors lie to us, courts listen to lies before our honest recapping of events I have to question the validity of Honesty based on the environment. If you do not lie you are a victim of the system already because you let them know your hand from front to back and they know what you have, what you do and once in a position of no recourse they will take what you have just because and give it some reason or say I am sorry I can't. Between you and me I will tell you I have just about had enough and while I will never condone lying it just might be acceptable to define lying as absolutely not true and if stretching the truth is what it takes to be like everyone else in the race, well, If it benefits my kids or partner (if I ever find her) I will take responsibility for all the things I do and still teach my kids honesty is the best policy but will have to temper that as they grow older to sheild them from harm and those that would take advantage. I hope I have helped and I will keep you in my prayers.

That is how the system works. Those who lie, will get caught. They will end up having to pay back the goverment through their taxes or through their future paychecks. Can you apply for WIC? you can get milk, cheese, cereal, p'nut butter, and juices. Can you go to any churches or other local agencies to get help on some bills? Where is the father of this baby? Is he helping you?

Your right it does not seem fair. The immediate benefits for being truthful may not be there, but yours will come. In about 5 years the liars will still need assistance because they have not bettered themselves, but I can tell you a good person and in the end you will be better off than all the liars.

If you seriously need the food, go over the case workers head. Call the state head quarters a lot of times they know you won't go over there head so they deny you just to get you out of there face. But I think you have a case and can get food assistance.

The government/courts (anything affilliated) only want to hear lies, it is true, if you lie you get EVERYTHING handed to you; tell the truth and forget it. how about those who get FS and turn around and sell them?! THATS a real kick in the teeh to those who are in need and are refused. Something does need to change.

They may be getting their reward now, but you'll get yours later. Good on you for telling the truth.
