Psoriasis is excessive growth of skin cells. I have the same problem with patches on my legs. It can be exacerbated by stress, as can ailments like IBS, so try and find methods to control stress. Dovobet ointment is a steroid (NOT an anabolic steroid) which can be used to control it. This is applied three times a day, and removes excess skin, but does not completely rid you of the slight reddening of the skin. I don't know if you can purchase it over the counter, but your GP will prescribe it.
I know of other people who have had it who say that it never completely clears up, but it can be controlled.

Hi there, I have psoriosis all over my knuckles mostly my right hand, it comes and goes and I don't know what brings it out, it's a knightmare I know. I use a clear gel I got from my doctor called Bentnovate and it works wonders for me, almost straight away it takes the bleeding, itchiness and redness away. Good luck!

I am sure you have had all the doctor's cream and tablets, but they don't work right? So what I am going to suggest is raw grapeseed oil, crushed aspirin and egg yolk. The aspirin gets the flaky skin off, the grapeseed oil massaged in with whipped egg yolf will calm it down and moisturise the skin after the deflaking.
Dry really well, do not use any soap whatsoever, and thickly slather the legs in honey, and wrap them loosely in cling film over night. Rinse off in the morning and pat dry with lint and moisturise with Nivea body lotion. If you have any more problems get back to me, but use the purest honey known to man, not the cheap shop bought stuff. Good Luck

yea same here
i have to put on cream every night
legs take longer so even tho it has cleared up everywhere else, it's still on my legs. So I know how it feels. I feel stupid wearing pants when everyone is wearing shorts in the hot weather.
Go to a dermatologist, they'll give you a prescription cream. It works...IF you use it everyday.
Also tanning helps. I just tan in the sun, but it works better on a tanning bed. I don't go "fake baking" though. That's up to you what you do, but just be careful because you can still get skin cancer.

i read a while back that UV light is actually really helpful. You may want to visit your local tanning salon a session.
