And what should she do to live longer

You can't tell a 62 year old person what to do, if she wanted to change, she would. Just love her as long as you have her, and be kind to her, if you push her to change life-long habits, she never will unless the will comes from her.

Bless you for caring about her.

Why don't you pray for your grandmother, maybe she's had a hard life, we all do things that are unhealthy for us at one time or another, try to encourage her to go places or do things with you or get her outside, try and get her attention from smoking away, and get her busy with other activities, it will take time on your part, but someday grandma may not be around, I know I lost mine, and she was the best, we should cherish time that we have and not look forward to when we don't.

she's eating and smoking herself into an early grave - unfortunately there's not much you can "make" her do, it's got to be her decision to better herself. Tell her that you love her and want her to be around for a long time, and you want to help her start to get better. If she weighs that much chances are she's not very mobile, which means that other people are contributing to her problem by bringing her food and cigarettes - that should stop.

Frankly, I'm amazed she's still here. She needs to quit smoking, get up, move, and lose about 350 lbs. Sorry, but unless she does that, she's not long for this world.

she needs to stop smoking, exercise, and eat less. It is not healthy to weigh that much. She could live to be 90 if she took her health more serious. I hope she lives a long time

shes alreadly outlived my grandmother. who died when she was in her early 60s, smoked all her life, and probably weighed less than 100 pounds. encourage your grandmother to be more active, suggest a walk with just the two of you. its a little to late to do life changing things, but get her to be more active. my other grandmother is in her late 70s and looks like shes in her 40s. she never got her licesence and had to walk to the bus stop all her life(and still does). so try and get your granny to take small steps

I'm surprised she's still alive now. If she wants to live longer, she needs to eat low fat, low cholesterol foods, eat less food period, exercise and quit smoking. I don't see that happening though.
