What people don't understand is that we cannot pull out. When Bush Sr. was in control of Desert Storm and then pulled out - Saddam killed all of those who supported us - that was around 60,000 people. If we picked up and left - it would be chaos. Whether you support the war or not - we cannot leave.
If you look back at World War 2 - US and Japan were the same. Its new and the problem is that people think war is over in 6 months - ITS WAR not a soccer game - we are in it for the long haul.

Democracy- two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for breakfast
Liberty- the sheep disputing the vote.
True democracy is not likely obtainable in the middle east.
While Iraq was a mistake militarily, the costs to immediate withdraw would lead to the collapse of the government we spent a fortune on building. I guess if everything "stays the course" we can look foreward to having another Germany to build bases on and maintain spheres of control within the middle east. Noteably, right on the border with Iran.

I dont think so. The govermnent say they are fighting for democrecy for the Iraki people but the truth is they are fighting for oil. They should have saved us taxpayers all that money and lives of military by using all that money for alternative fuels. I would have been a lot cheaper and it would be good for the enviroment What they dont say its that they get revenue from this bussiness. Check out wich companies are recontructing Irak. Does Cheney ring a bell?

you don't sound like anyone who has spent any time defending this country from terrorists...and i don't mean that in a bad way, but combined i have 7 family members (4 sailors, 2 soldiers, and a marine) who have or are currently serving now for a combined service of around 40 years....so i say, if we accomplish what we have set out to do, even if it is for another country, to bring DEMOCRACY to a culture who don't even let women out of the house without permission, then i say it is worth every bit of sacrifice we can make....can one only imagine what it was like HERE 200 some years ago when we fought bravely for OUR independence, SO CELEBRATE JULY 4TH and DON'T FORGET OUR SOLDIERS!!!

None whatsoever. George and his cronies are making money while we pay dearly in lives and treasure. Who would have ever thought the Iraqis would be better off with Saddam in power?

No. It's human sacrifice and a debt than can't be fixed.
