Just a little something I thought of while perusing the religion section--excellent trollage today, by the way:
1)Someone mocks your beliefs
2)You retaliate by mocking theirs, or you just let it go and realize everyone is entitled to their own opinion(and secretly laugh at them for being so misguided, because you have all the answers).
3)No bloodshed, live and let live--the most each party walks away with is a bruised ego.
Would this work?

It might work for some situations, but for many world conflicts, "no." A lot of the world violence problems are power issues...not differences in belief systems...either the desire to have power/control over others or the desire to attain wealth/power.

if it is your belief, or faith, or love, or happiness, or joy, Really, if u r hard core into the above then u will understand these r the inner things, they are not there because of others and they can not be disturbed by others behaviour. If u are affected by others opinions, behaviour then it is not belief, faith, love, happiness, yet. World is at peace, everything is happening for the best, there is always a storm before the peace, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. This is all a process, happening, neither good nor bad.

The true answer to world peace is eliminating all organized religion completely, but that's an unrealistic idea, so the best we can do is accept that there are different beliefs out there and none of us can know for sure what lies at the end of the rainbow until we find ourselves there.

Wouldn't be great if we could just all get along together. But unfortunately many fundamentalist groups, particularly but not exclusively religious ones, have intolerance of others as one of their most basic principles.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could see the truth (not MY truth, THE truth) and not rely on unfounded beliefs anymore?

I don't think we should mock someone's beliefs, but everyone is free to share theirs. There will never be world peace.

No, becasue too many people have too much pride to let their ego take such a hit. It means that they have to submit to someone else's will against their own will.
