A cheap digital camcorder has about the same video quality as an analog camcorder. For more money there are digital camcorders with much higher picture quality. Like the previous posters said, at the low end digital is really about the convenience of having digital files.

By far, digital camcorders. You can do so much more using computers and up-to-date equipment, as where standered camcorders appear sluggish and un-compatible.
