Time will tell. Yes, his ability to close when he's ahead of the field is unmatched. Although his driving accuracy has never fully recovered from the change in his swing mechanics, his ability to create great shots from poor lies and poor locations is incredible. Finally, yes he has technology that the past greats could not even imagine. However, lets not forget that he is dominating a field that is far more competitive, stronger, and high tech than than those the Golden Bear had to deal with. Woods is the best player in the world today, ignoring his recent difficulties in dealing with his father's health and subsequent death, but the answer to the question of whether he is the greatest will have to wait until his finishes his career.

Nope. Bobby Locke was a better putter. He could putt over gravel.
Ben Hogan was a better competitor and could manage a course better than anyone. Wild Bill Melhorn and Moe Norman were the best ball strikers - bar none. John Daly drives it longer, as would Sam Snead with today's equipment.
In the big picture, Tiger has comes as close as anyone to fulfilling his potential as a competitive golfer. But it's based more on hard work and mental toughness than it is on talent.

It is hard to say. I would love to see some of the older golfers play with the technology that we have today. The all around game of Tiger I would say is great, but not the greatest. Tiger still is one of the best.

No. His talent is evident, and he's probably in the top 5 golfers of all time. But you have to look at consistency. Right now, he is struggling big time, but when you look at people like Jack Nicholas, Arnie Palmer, and Ben Hogan-- they were consistantly good and a constant fear in tournament play. People used to fear Tiger, but now they are just mildly concerned about him.

Today, no...he still has somethings to prove. Once his career is over and even possibly a few years before that, he will without a doubt be the greatest golfer of all time.

I think Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Bobby Jones were all more dominant in eras where course management and accuracy were more important than today. Tiger is a great player, but he often let's his strength get in the way of his talent.

I don't think Tiger is the "greatest of all time", there is no doubt that he's good. But with all the commercials he does, all the tourneys he skips, I think that his heart is not in the game as much as some of the other golfers. But there is no doubt that he's good.

Yes, I would say so. I think Tiger's swings are better than Niklaus and Palmer, but not better than Bobby Jones. But, they can't be compared due to the technologies and time different. Currently, I think yes Tiger is the best of all time.
