You can use just about anything for catfish... and yes... I have used anchovies as bait before... with limited success... but I also caught a stripped bass that night too.

Yes you can the salt will release into the water and act as an atttractant. It is a real good bait for big Channel cats.

sure. if thats all you can get. see if you can locate some frozen mackeral. works good too. get some wintergreen oil from a pharmacy and put a few drops of that on tour bait then hang on. this tip is only for you. all you other guys forget you saw the wintergreen tip. good luck. oh... where are you fishing?

Catfish are scavengers and will eat anything that won't eat him first. They are also drawn toward smell. The smellier it is......the better they like it.

Try french fries- frozen or cooked work.
