Hmm...praying to god would help if I believed in that Christian bunk...however..I decided long ago to feminize the supreme being, so...yea.

Let me clarify- not 'MY' Goddess, but the supreme life force behind the entire cosmos and humanity. The energy propelling us all and creating, shaping, and molding us and our planet, and any other planet with life. That is who I would like to be at peace with. I want to meditate to feel that awesome presence.

Your goddess? No wonder you can't meditate.

I have ADHD also, and have found that this is one of the only things that works for me. Get in a comfortable postion and close your eyes. Think of something, a movie, a book, a tv show, a good memory, etc, and replay it in your mind. If it's something I enjoy, I can meditate for fifteen minutes at a time. You can also just listen to the things around you, and try to interpret where everything is, and what's going on. When you're finished meditating, you feel refreshed and happy. I've tried meditating near a clock, and listening, and counting the seconds, up to hundreds. Good luck tapping your inner goddess!

1) Your Focus & Centering: Try taking an "archtype," in the meta-cognitive sense and make it your 'mantra' for that day... let your associative networks fly into action... then, when nearing its exhuastion of the implied meanings... try to bring that synethesia into a "letting go."
2) Your Breathing: As you begin your meditations, concentrate on your breathing -first deep breaths usually 8 -10 with slow controls expulsions, then slow shallow breaths... the idea is decrease the heart rate ( and blood pressure).
3) Your Posture: that's your choice... usually whatever is comfortable is best. However, if you want to progress in your ability to sustain longer periods of meditation, Yoga is a discipline you will eventually want to foster. Tai Chi and increased aerobics will help you too. Also, consider the occasional fast followed by a couple of enimas to clean out the digestive tract.

First you must know why do you want to meditate.

To relax you can do a lot of things, some maybe more close from your reality... listen music, get out with your friends, take some vacations, make some journey, paint, write, read, go to the movies... etc... etc.

Meditation makes you contact with your true self, if you can feel connected with some activity were you really are yourself and you feel joyfully and grateful with the deepest part of your being, invest in it, cultivate it like a flower and let it grow like a tree.... every day, step by step, that's meditation... Your meditation.

Good luck on your quest.

Remove yourself from possible distractions. Stay away from other people, TVs, Radios... I find the woods to be a great place. Far enough out that the most you'll encounter is some small woodland creature. A rooftop can also work. Focus on tuning the world out. Listen to everything at once, making it form into white noise. You don't have to zone out or focus on one thing exclusively to meditate. Sometimes, stillness and clarity of thought is simple enough. You can't control the way your mind processes things. You can control what you do physically in responce to your mental process. Work on it.

well don't worry about your "goddess" so much...

but I have ADD too and it really has helped me over the years... you just have to be able to focus on breathing deeply for a minute or two and totally relaxing all of the muscles you have control over... then you are going to sit or lie there for a long time and try to keep yourself from daydreaming or thinking about anything too hard.

The best method I have found is to find a quiet, dark place and light a candle and try to stare at the candle for as long as you can without blinking... it's fun, because you start hallucinating after a while and it really takes all of your concentration not to blink or look away.

Lie down with something under your head to support your neck.
Then focus on the sound of your breathing and relax all the muscles in your body. Visualize going over the parts of your body
and relaxing them. Then breath.
When you come out of it roll onto your right side for a moment and then slowly come to a cross legged or kneeling position and
remain still for a few moments more.

You should not be meditating or tuning into a goddess. You should pray to Jesus Christ and Ask Him and Him alone to be your personal Lord and Savior. He will give your inner peace, not to mention eternal life.
