I think if the person who created the document in PowerPoint saves it as the correct file type in can be opened on any Windows XP computer as a read only file. I remember a co-worker of mine having that issue, and he figured out how to make PowerPoint presentations so that people who did not have PowerPoint could view them. I believe he had to get an updated version of the program as of about two years ago in order to do it.

The basic answer is no, you can't.
You have to have PPT or get a version of the presentation that is compatible with another application.
