Using scripture as a reference how does one become saved. I've heard may different ways: praying Jesus into your heart/sinners prayer; baptism (full emersion); accepting Jesus; etc.

Can doing one of these things alone make one saved or is it a combination of things? Please prove your view using scripture.

Hey Truly,
A lot of people get stuck on the scripture found in Romans 10:9 that says: "If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." The only prob. with just sticking to that scripture is that Paul was talking to Romans who were ALREADY CHRISTIANS! Therefore the passage is taken out of context. Instead read, Acts 2:37-38, "When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins..."
Jesus himself said to Nicodemus in John 3:5 "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.: v. 7 "You should not be surprised at my saying you must be born again."
People must be born again as stated above by Jesus and Peter and you must prove it by following Jesus' commands. Then you will be truly forgiven and truly saved. :O)

Since I'm not Christian, I can't quote from the "New Testament".

So, let me state that in Judaism, the focus has always been on seeking justice and doing what we can to help others.
We are NOT to focus on the world to come, but to focus on the here and now.

Every year, on Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), we are obligated to confront those we've wronged - face to face - and ask for their forgiveness.
In essence, we're "born again" every year.

We believe that ALL people of ALL faiths can be "saved" (i.e., enter heaven).
You ask for a quote from Scripture, I give you Ecclesiastes 12:17 (see link).

It's beginning a personal relationship. That's the beauty of this faith. God loves us all very much and has provided a way for salvation. If you make the decision to love him and accept his free gift of love and mercy, you will enter into eternal paradise.

Repent of your sins, accept Christ's act of atonement for us, and begin a loving relationship with God. Your life will never be the same.

This is between you and Christ. You can make this decision right now by praying to him. You need not any man/woman to do anything for you. If you wish to discuss further, please email me at jekeaton05@yahoo.com.

God Bless.

Simply believe in Jesus. Please read the book of John as it was written for the purpose of bringing people to belief in the Lord Jesus. Belief is all that is required, baptism and repentance come after wards but are not required for salvation.

John 3:16 believe that Jesus was worthy to pay the debt of your sins and that he was resurrected and that you will be also...being saved is not a ceremony it is by faith we are saved we are not dead yet and still in our mortal bodies he who endures to the end will be saved...The entire gospel is that God in the flesh was the only one worthy to atone for sin of all of mankind...all are sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God..therefore in his love god in the form of man overcame sin and paid the price with his blood that all who believe in him can have eternal life...I can add tons of scripture to prove this if need be ..God bless.
