I have used XP x64.The installation was really difficult.I have SCSI drives and x64 requires that you have the correct drivers when installing otherwise the drives will not be detected.I had to install a floppy drive in my computer to do this.Some software does not work in x64.You would also have to register it with Microsoft before the specified time is up.I expected to see a big difference and I didn't.Try Vista instead?I could not get any CD writer software to work in Vista.I could not get add/remove programs to work in Vista. Should be easy but it's not.

64 bit edition is going to be way better this operating system is designed for 64 bit compliant systems and also 64 bit software if you do not have a 64 bit compliant system then no...
And if you do not know if you do or not then you prob do not have one....

newer? it must has better feature, we shouldn't call it better, just with more features, more hardware support, etc. if you have a 64bit hardware then its better for you, otherwise it should be the same thing.
