THat scripture proves that God, not Satan, creates evil. It says so right there! "I make peace AND CREATE EVIL." Christians can't deny what their own Bible says. If one is truly monotheistic, then one must believe what it says, for if there is something that God didn't create, then there must be another god that is at least his equal. Christians call that god "Satan." The Israelites (and their descendants, the Jews) did not recognize Satan as anything other than an angel, a messenger and servant of God.

Try different versions of the Bible:
Isaiah 45:7 (New Life Version)
I make light and I make darkness. I bring good and I make trouble. I am the Lord Who does all these things.
Aparantly the word 'evil' was a mistranslation, and the words calamity, disaster & woe explain this original Hebrew text better.

i think the lord just knows that there is a balance to everything and i don't think peace can come without controversy and i don't think there is a such thing as good without evil. If god made a perfect being with no evil he would just be making other gods

There are so many people out there that like to twist the scripture to make themselve think they are being clever
Moral evil proceeds from the will of men, but physical evil proceeds from the will of God.
God created hell as a punisment for people beause of our sins. If we do not ask for forgivness and turn away from the evil then we will be sent to hell.

People put God in a box of "goodness"...which I understand God as a "Perfect" God; but that does not always mean "good".
Good is a subjective term that can mean many things, but perfect; that is more precise.
God created everything, both "good" and "evil"...even in the Bible itself it mentions God feeling "sorry" for the evil He was about to commit.
Hope this helps.

God didn't write that, men did. And by the way, the men who wrote that thought the earth was flat, and that the Universe revolved around the earth. I do believe in a Higher Power, by the way, but I do not believe any Man (no woman wrote anything in the Bible) in History has ever gotten close to what the Higher Power is all about.

God know the worst evil of all... Jer17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I the LORD search the heart...

God does not commit evil. He created the angel that brought evil to our minds. He decided what was evil and what wasn't. He knows what evil is, but he does not engage in evil acts.
God Bless!

I think that a careful evaluation of The Lord, using the guidelines set forth in the DSM-IV (the manual which psychiatrists use in classifying mental disorders) would lead us to the conclusion that The Lord is a paranoid schizophrenic. He needs thorazine, and lots of it.
