Most of his major sayings aren't original. The so-called "Golden Rule" was spoken by a Rabbi long before Yeshua was a gleam in his sky daddy's eye. And the Greeks and Confucians before him. Several of the beatitudes are also found in Psalms and Isaiah. Not a sign of true original thought.

I believe that Jesus was very good at using his background as a Jew and his study of Torah to project new ways of understanding God, the Commandments and the many wonderful parables in the Tanach.

Jesus was a Jewish theologian.
And like today's rabbi's and ministers, he weaved stories into understandable context for the every day people in his time.

Was it original?
I don't know and I suspect not.
Perhaps unique, but probably not original.

Jesus started the language "Father, Son and Holy Spirit" because God having God's own Divine Human was new. The Son of God brought God into a visible body. The world is still struggling with the new wording.

Jesus taught a totally new way of thinking- that one could be forgiven without an animal sacrifice because He was the sacrifice for all men. He quoted a lot of Old Testament because He was the fulfillment of all their prophesy.

And the gal above me is SO right.

Matthew 21:22 "All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

And, because I I did ask believing, I am now a very happy multi-millionaire, with a gorgeous wife and kids, and retired at 30. Now I'm just waiting to pop-off so I can go to eternal paradise. Ah, if everyone would only follow my example and believe every word! (OK, not all of you. Somebody has to cut the lawn.)

Do you have anything original to say?

You try to justify your stupid belief by attacking Jesus. Don't you realize that you are attacking yourself. There is absolutely nothing that you can blame Jesus for. But, I bet you that you make stupid decisions and moronic acts.
Think before you make a fool of your stupid metal hand.

As for these stupid idiots who say no, than why do they not accept Jesus's words. They are just as stupid as you

Yes. Could you have come up with some of his wonderful and vivid illustrations? But we must remember everything Jesus did was because his father, Jehovah, told him to do so, so in actuality though he said many great things they were all his father's thoughts and will.

I think that you are forgetting that everything he has said was original. What we read in the Bible, someone had to have heard it for the first time in order for it to be recorded. So Yes he did say something original.......

A lot of the things he said were taken from Zorastasim, as well as other hebrew leaders of his time, but the things he said have always and will always be said by men who rise to power because the truth is a good one. Love the people around you, and yourself. Pretty simple, but simple doesn't always mean easy.
