recently surprised me with a book he bought me that was sitting on my desk w/ a note basically saying, Don't be afraid to dream. It was a beautiful, most touching gift. He is aware I am in a relationship but after the book, he asked if he could buy me lunch. casually, with no flirt intended, I said sure. We ate at work and simply talked about traveling, work, weather. he comes to talk and say hi, no "direct" flirting. I want tos ay he likes talking and hanging out w/ me but I don't know.
He just let me borrow a few CD's as well. He saw my tatoo and I todl him it was based on a song and he said he can guess which one it is, the next day he did.
Why is he on top of it with with me? Is he just friendly and sweet?
Am I overreacting?
Mature advice please.
Note: I don't mind his presence, in fact, I need friends like him to conversate with, I have none, literally.

I think he totally likes you. I'm sort of going through the same thing right now...I totally have a crush on this guy at work but I have a boyfriend!! Just try to keep flirting down to a minimum so you don't lead him on but also to protect your relationship. And make sure you remain friends with him, it's always good to have a buddy at work =)

He's harboring feelings for you. What kind? Don't know. Too early to tell. But he definitely is intrigued and likes your company. The book is a gesture of his kindness. You reacted just the way that would reinforce him i.e. you didn't reject him so he asked you to lunch. You guys then hit it off well. He let you borrow a few CD's. Yet another gesture you did not reject. The effort to guess the tattoo and song is his infatuation. In fact, that's what this is ... infatuation. The minors on this site would call it a crush.

I personally have friends like this and it is nothing more than a good strong friendship. To be honest it is how it should be. i would not assume anything as he has given you really any reason to. He is aware your in a relationship so that's good I think he likes being around you. I have a friend she is a pure delight to just be around although i am single and she is not I don't have anything more to offer her than friendship. I have met her husband and son but only once but I do send Christmas presents to them at Xmas. Her husband is aware I am her friend and he is ok with it. I believe once you can get to this point in life and treat it like it should be treated then people can be happy. many may say he is just playing you up but no one knows this for sure until he does. You a big girl and you can see more than anyone. I say your lucky to have such a good friend. peace be with you.

wow i no friends either. well my best friend says she is my best friend but we never hang out. anyways back to the point.
i think this guy likes you. you can tell he is very mature since he is not flirting with you becus you are taken. but i guess he is doing this becus he is a nice person and now a days you dont really meet people like that so that is why he is standing out in a crowd.
does your man know about him? if he would find out, would you think he is okay with you having a guy friend?
you shouldnt brush him aside ( coworker ) you should continue to have a nice coworker relationship at work only.
but just to be safe tell you man if you want this guy to be your friend. so that he knows whats up with you two

Seems to me your overreacting, and answering your own questions!
"Note: I don't mind his presence, in fact, I need friends like him to conversate with, I have none, literally."
I don't see the complication....Maybe you could add some more information?

Go with the flow, keep being his friend, if he wants more and you don't tell him. At least you might get a lifelong friend out of it. Or who knows you might start having feelings for him and down the road if you are both available you might hook up and be married for the rest of your lives!

Ask him out on a date. He put himself out there for you, show him you would like more. Some men are dense with women and may not get the hint very fast. Make it happen.

Maybe he too is just looking for a friend and is a really good guy. Enjoy each other's friendship.

be friends and don't forget your relationship at home. not everyone is what they seem so remember that at all times. if he has feelings for you he does seem to be a gentleman about them but you are deffinately on his mind if he thought about your tatoo.

Well, you have told him that you are in a relationship, so you have nothing to worry about if he is expecting more that is his problem not yours. You have done your part by telling the truth.
