disk is shot for my autistic gransons computer he locked it up,where can i download and burn quick restore for a compaq 5302rsh can't afford to buy one at this time

try bit torrent. i doubt one will be there let alone active but its worth a shot. and i understand you said you cant afford one but if you get about $20-$25 sometime soon you can go to HP's website (HP and Compaq are the same) and buy the CD from them.

Before you try anything drastic, there are ways to repair scratched disks. If it's badly scratched, the following often works: With a soft cloth, apply the commercial brass cleaner called "Brasso" to the surfact of the disk, rubbing the Brasso from the inside of the disk to the rim...not in a circular direction. Do this on the entire surface of the disk. Then take another clean soft cloth and buff the Brasso out, again going from the inside out toward the rim of the disk. Then try the disk again. Often this works. Good luck.

Try limewire to see if anyone has it posted. Be careful as some idiots put spyware and viruses in these downloads. Put some alcohol on the CD and see if you can burn a new one.
