Has anyone tried using The Auto Cool Solar Car Fan - supposed to keep the inside of ur car cooler?

my daughter saw this on TV and wants one. I usually do a search on stuff before I buy, but can't really find any good reviews on this product. Anyone out there got one - does it work?

I can't see it working at all. If you look at the way the fan turns, it's not scooping the air as it goes around. I held a lit cigarette to both of my parents units and no smoke appeared to go through either of the units.Of course, I could be wrong. Just my thought of how similar things work (ie: the blower wheel on a dryer which forces the air out the exhaust)

I think this just a little solar powered fan. To keep the Car cool there are a few factors. One; keep your windows down after you park. Two; when you get in a car and the windows up, roll them down and drive a few minutes to get the Bulk of the Heat out and the AC can cool faster. Third; Get used to the Heat and leave the windows down 24/7 (except when it rain). I prefer the Third as I outside a lot anyway, AC just make it worse. But, the AC nice in the House at Bedtime. Hope this helps.
They do make a Fan, sold in Auto Sections of Department Stores (Wal-Wort/Truck Stops) and Auto Parts Stores. It use 12 volts, some have a Lighter plug. They about 5-8 inchs across in size though, but, they can move some air and sell around $15-20.

not very good. you car will still be hot. that tiny little fan won't do much to help the ventilation during the day. Your window has to be open an inch or so for you to fit the unit in there. What happens if it rains? electronics don't like water. best way to rid the interior heat is drive with all windows down for awhile while you have the ac blasting. once all the hot air exits the car, roll up your windows and you're set. as seen on tv stuff is crap. if you really want one, wait until it IS available in stores for cheper and get one then.

I bought it here in the Philippines. The box says it's manufactured in NJ, USA. I can't feel the difference. This video is for real:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSGBYiCcP2o . The your car is 1 degree F lesser heat if you have this than just stick to the old fashion way of no cooling at all. I think it might help only if all your car doors will have this thing. That will be about a 4-degree less temp. than having nothing at all.

Even though you say be specific...it's really a simple anwer. The windshield gives the best angle for the heat of the sun to enter the car. If you block that sunlight from entering the car...it stays cooler. It's that simple.

I haven't heard much about them but I too would like to try it so when you find out something more on them let me know as I will do the same !! I think it would be awesome if it does really work like it says and with summer here and kids we need a break !!
