Now I like everyone else enjoy humor and comedy, BUT I do NOT like it when I see many of my gender thinking it's ok to act crude, crass, boorish, mean and obnoxious just because they feel that 'it's what guys do'. I understand that young boys and adolescents act this way because they still have maturing to do, but for 30+ year old GROWN MEN to behave like this is pathetic. Thankfully there are those of us guys (straight) who think this is NOT the way to behave if you want to be respected in society. What do you think?

Well, I'm not a guy, but I do think it gives men a bad name. Because it makes some guys think they can basically do what they want to do and get away with it because they're men. Same goes for some women, though.

I agree with you. Too many guys use the "boys will be boys" thing as an excuse to do whatever they want. And, unfortunately, too many women let their significant others do stupid and hurtful things for this same reason, even though their hearts tell them the behavior is wrong. And that attitude equates men in general with animals that have no self-control ... kind of degrading in that respect.

That phrase was so overused by Mothers of boys in the 1950's & 1960's that it became the most popular rationalization for bad male (both straight and not straight) behavior.

Absolutely. I hate being lumped into the category of 'all men'. Those who know me know better.
