When I was young, we used to write in on the back of our Valentine Card envelope. It stood for Stuck With a Nice Kiss.
The other and proper meaning, is posh, well to do, classy, well dressed. A swank was a Toff (a well to do person) but a person who was 'swanky' was someone pretending to be what they were not and showing off to those about.............
