He is OK. God loves him and knows that this world sometimes is just too much to take.

Sadly, the world is missing out on a sensitive person who could have changed things.

"Does someone go to hell for committing suicide?" That's a great question!

Those who are adamant that a person who takes his life is committing a mortal sin, and will go to hell, are basing their belief on church doctrine rather than on the Bible. Scripture is silent on the subject. There are no verses that say "He who takes his own life shall be damned." According to Scripture, only one sin does not have forgiveness, and that is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (see Mark 3:29 footnote). That means there is forgiveness for every other sin.

Some quote 1 Corinthians 3:17, which says that God will destroy someone who "defiles" the temple of the Holy Spirit. Yet, there is disagreement about what it means to defile the temple. Does this include suicide? Does it include illicit drug abuse (slow suicide), prescription drug abuse, cigarettes (deliberately breathing in poisons that will eventually kill), tattoos, over-eating (digging a grave with your spoon), or alcohol abuse?

God forbid that we add to the pain of someone who has lost a loved one through the tragedy of suicide, by making a judgment about their eternal destiny. God is the ultimate Judge, and we should therefore leave the issue in His hands. It would be wise to follow the biblical example and not come to any verdict in the case of suicide.

If they put their faith and trust in God, they will go to heaven no matter what. Once saved always saved. Salvation though, is something between God and a person. We cannot say whether a person is saved or not; only God can.

Just pray for whoever is going to commit suicide or is on the path to getting there, and then interfere. God doesn't like suicide. It doesn't fit into his plan.

God Bless!

All souls go to Heaven to wait for judgment.

I believe that's a God judgement. Totally a God judgement. I don't think suicidal people will be condemned if they have Jesus. Sometimes, suicide is a result of a severe mental disorder. Heck, everytime it happens it's because of a severe mental disorder. No one in their right mind would have the desire or the drive to actually kill themselves. However, I believe that's a judgement call totally for God.

There is no hell or purgatory. We all just go to the other side. Religion is to help the living to cope while on this earth. The truth is on the other side. And if there is a God, he or she would not punish you for having mental illness. Cause that's why people kill themselves.

I put it in human term. I am a son to my earthly father. If I were to take my own life, will I lose my status as a son to my earthly father or will my earthly father not call me as his son becos of my foolish act.

Likewise, as a believer, God is my heavenly Father. Will my status as son be nullified. Bible tells us that the love of the heavenly Father is more than an earthly father.

Whether as a earthly child or child of God, in both, I can only say that we are not an overcomer and did not run a good or finish the race.

If the earthly father is sad about the foolish act so is to God, the heavenly Father.

I wonder this too. It's said that suicide is a mortal sin and you will go to hell if you do it, but if you believe in God and just want to be closer to him---how can that be a sin? Surely God would see the tortured soul and forgive him? right?

Depending on if they have been saved, or not will determine where they go. If they've accepted Jesus Christ into their heart as Lord and Savior, then they would go to Heaven. Otherwise they're going to Hell, because there's not a Pergutory, nor inbetween place. It's either Heaven, or Hell.

No-one can ever answer that question - i assume your asking if commiting suicide means you go to hell? Thats like asking if drowning is a peaceful way 2 die? How can anyone know how it feels to die? Anyway, i'm not religious, but i would imagine it's frowned upon!

That is a very tough question. They are probably sick if they do commit suicide and if they are unable to make a competent decision then God will be merciful on them because of their illness.
