Not everyone who puts on the ID Tag of, Christian, is one. I am a Christian who visited a new church church and the pastor (whom I never met before) invited me to his office before services began. I assumed just to chat and tell me a little about his Church.

Imagine my surprise when he pulls a snub nose revolver from his desk after having me take a seat. He placed the handgun on top of the desk pointed my direction, moving his hand only inches away from it.

He looked me square in the eye and asked me if I was the one who had been calling his residence threatening him and his family. My eyes got large in disbelief! Naturally I told him NO! I didn't even know him to have anything against him (or at least up until that moment).

After I informed him thus - I stood up and backed out the door and never went back. Needless to say, I looked elsewhere for a Church to visit.

Not every preacher is like that., not every Christian is like that. Some are. You cant judge the whole chicken yard by a few gun totin' ones. if you did then I would suspect we are in trouble because that would mean every atheist is a serial killer.

I hate the closeminded ones. I don't tell Baptists that I am Catholic. My Baptist friend used to tell me that my church was dumb and we were all weird.
My worst experience??
I went to a youth group night once, and wound up listening to a 30 minute lecture on how the beliefs of Catholics are wrong and how Catholics are such awful people. It was in the middle of a field in the country, so I couldn't get anywhere. I left this "ministry" and one of the organizers followed me and asked if I was ok.. was I sick... etc. and I said "I can't put up with this, I'm Catholic. I came here for a youth ministry and being with friends in an environment supporting Christianity, and I'm getting repremanded for what Catholics did in the 1100s."
It really was no fun. I haven't been back to that particular youth group since.

I'm really getting a kick out of DUH!'s answer though... Um... Catholics ARE Christian, because we too believe in Christ... hahahaha.
Do you not attend church that often or what??

A christian - many years ago - had the nerve and mitigating gaul to actually pray over me when I was quite content in my drug-dazed life style, when I was mixing LSD with speed and downers and booze.

Unfortunately (?) his prayer was answered, and God set me free from the drugs, the booze, cigarettes within a matter of minutes!

Because of that one man's prayers, my whole life has been totally turned around, and now I can no longer enjoy the "sins" I used to enjoy. Now I actually enjoy doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord, and trying to live up to His standards!

Elijah, you are struggling with your own Christianity aren't you?
The worst experience I've ever had, was being told (by another Christian) that I was going to hell, because I did not attend their factions church. And spending far too much time attempting to "save" me.

Me and my Grandma having a heated argument. She was calling Homosexuals perverts because they're "perverting Gods work". And I (also a Christian) was telling her that God loves all his people, and Jesus never said a thing about Gays, and we're supposed to be like him, judge not lest ye be judged and all that Jazz. I feel like I'd have less terrible encounters with Christians if I wasn't one myself. Because why would I care then? I feel like so many of them are giving the few good ones a bad name

I assume you mean a real Christian and not a pseudo-Christian.

I can't say I've ever had a bad experience with a brother or sister in Christ.

i used 2 ask God 2 save me from His followers. I even had the bumpersticker. As a Christian, i am appaled at the state of self-righteousness with which many treat our brothers and sisters. It is by grace that we are saved thru faith - not of ourselves. it is a gift of God, not of works, that none may boast! Eph 2 :8-9.

Some of the praise and worship singers go to clubs on Fridays and Saturdays then put on a show on Sundays and make people thing they are for real
I found one of the singers on myspace in an uncompromising position. The sad thing is that the pastor is aware of it and does nothing ! !

Excuse me? Christian people are people like u! I am Christian and Catholic! What is the difference? So maybe we believe in something different? I still like to shop and do fun hobbies like piano, tennis, and singing! Why be prejudice?
