It is easiest to wait until you at least file for your 2006 taxes. That way, you have all the information in front of you. If you are not filing for taxes (i.e. you don't work) then you can file anytime in the year 2007.

You can file it any time after New Year's Day 2007. I usually wait until I get my tax info back to provide them a better picture, but this is not necessary.
