I go on a cruise with my boyfriend once a year, and this year we were thinking about trying Celebrity. We've already been on Carnival and Royal Carribbean. We heard Holland was more for an older crowd, so we don't want to try them. Any suggestions? - doesn't have to be about Celebrity. Thanks.

WE just did a 14 day Celebrity in May this year to the Baltic. I was somewhat disappointed. The ship was nice and the staff was great with service, but overall I didn't think it was any better than the many Royal Caribbean and Princess cruises we have done.

I would rate it about the same as Royal Caribbean.

The destination of the cruise is almost more important than the cruise line. N. Europe and Alaska will be an older crowd. Caribbean and Mexico will be younger. The Med is sorta in the middle. Overall, Celebrity will be more like Holland America and lean toward an older crowd (probably average age in the 60's). Carnival usually has the youngest guests, 20's and 30's. Princess and Royal Caribbean guests usually are 40-50's.

The service and food on board Celebrity is very good as compared to other cruise lines.

I also recommend picking the newest ship that's going to the ports you want to visit. That way you get a brand new, clean ship, with all the latest amenities.

Hope that helps!

I just returned from a Celebrity Cruise, and it was the worst ship I was ever on. There were not many on-board activities, and things seemed to close up early. They had no piano bar, some of the staff was actually rude, and very few servers stopped to ask me if I wanted a drink. I had heard that they were such a superior line, so I had great expectations, but I would much rather travel Carnival. The food was excellent, I'll give them that, but out of the entire crew there was only a small handful that was above average. My cruise was to Alaska--I had been there before with Holland America and anxious to go back. If I had sailed with Celebrity first, I never would have returned. I will not sail with them again. In case you are curious--the ship was Mercury

I just retured today from the Celebrity Bermuda cruise and I have to say it was by the far the best trip I've ever been on! It's a great cruise line that cares about their passengers. All of the staff was extremely helpful and generous. Food was fantastic, service was great, and there were plenty of things to do. (The shows were amazing) I would definitely recommend Celebrity to anyone.

My husband and I (in our early 40s) cruised on Celebrity's Millennium for our anniversary, and we loved it. It is a very classy ship. The food and service were great. We are not "party animals" and were pleased that our fellow travelers were a more mature crowd. One couple at our dinner table was 40-ish and the other couple was 20-ish (on their honeymoon).

Then somebody suggested while they ultimately have been in a position to envision into their room on their NCL cruise their room became nonetheless grimy from the final those that have been in it, and there have been stains everywhere a number of that have been blood stains. My bestfriend from college informed me somebody she knew took NCL and can desire to not stand it in any respect. They suggested their so referred to as freestyle cruising became no the place close to unfastened in any respect. they have 5 resteraunts on the deliver, and what they don't inform you is you ought to %. a time to circulate to dinner earlier than time because of the fact the resteraunts in user-friendly terms carry 70 human beings in each and all the 5. in case you do not e book dinner earlier than time then you certainly are caught eating at 11pm at night. have confidence me as quickly as you circulate action picture star you will by no ability circulate on the different cruise line. base line NCL could make investments even nonetheless lots money it needs it nonetheless won't make it any better, they'll consistently suck. action picture star is the wonderful.

I think that you will be really impressed with Celebrity. It is a more luxurious line and the food and service is great. You probably won't want to return to the other lines once you have been on.
