Does anyone around the world care that the terrorists are not observing the rules of the Geneva Convention?

They don't wear uniforms, they target and kill civilians, they torture mercilessly, cutting off heads of live victims, and other horrible violations of the Geneva Convention. WHY ISN'T THE WORLD UP IN ARMS ABOUT THIS? WHY DOES THE U.S. HAVE TO OBSERVE THE GC WHEN THE TERRORISTS DON'T?

Goody, goody for us. We are fighting fair and that makes us better people. We can sleep well tonight and feel good about ourselves because we fight fair even when the nasty terrorists are murdering our soldiers with no restrictions. God save our military from the Liberal fools of the world.

What are we going to do? Go cry to their mommies? It isn't like we can tell them to mobilize into an actual fighting army, because even if we do, they aren't going to. Of course we don't like it, but why ***** and moan if we can't do anything bout it.
We observe the GC to show that we are better than them, not that the rest of the world cares. And if you believe that there are not parts of the US intelligence community that aren't using torture, you are sadly ignorant.

The terrorists don't apply to the Geneva convention. In their minds, they are fighting a religious war against us "infidels". The Geneva Convention is a coalition of sorts between the U.S., Great Britain, and various countries in Europe, and maybe a few in Asia. I haven't actually read up on it, but I did serve 6 years in the Navy. The Geneva Convention basically says that we won't torture POW's if we capture them from other countries during times of war, we won't declare war on our allies, etc. The reason that the Islamic extremists and terrorists don't apply is because they're not acting as a single country's military unit, like our Army or Navy. They're religious fanatics from all over the Middle East. They're acting as independent groups, like Hamas, Al Qaeda, and all the other ones you hear about. The Geneva Convention rules only apply to the countries who actually are on the treaty. The terrorists are never going to stop trying to annihilate America because they have twisted the teachings of the Koran into their own viewpoint. They want the entire world to be an Islamic state, with them as the rulers. They're going to keep on killing, because in their eyes, they're killing for God. I'm not sympathizing with them, but that's just the way they see things. There have been more wars over religion, and more people have died, than anything else people have gone to war over.

The terrorists were not signatories to it. They don't have to abide by anything. Organizations like the ICRC should keep their petty yipping yaps shut about Guantanamo.You can bet the US is pulling the legs off of some of those suckers in some dark basements someplace, it's just not seeing the light of day.

The US has to abide by the Geneva Conventions because the US signed it, but that's not good enough for some human rights cowards. The rest of the world is basically a bunch of self-serving crybabies, who will only scream if the US does something but will keep to themselves when the terorists start whacking heads off.

Well let's see, You, the United States of America did with malice of forthought and intent, willfully break every covenent and convention of international law and invaded a sovereign nation. Granted, it was ruled by a despot, one I might add you put in power several years before and supplied weapons to for years. When it was convenient for you, you ignored his mass murder of the kurds in the north (this was during the Iran war so the US didn't care). Now, you say how can the terrorist not follow the GC, why isn't the world up in arms......

You have to recognize that some here and some in this country (USA) actually want the terrorists to win - because then the party in charge loses and they get to claim a major victory. It sucks, but its pretty much the way it is;

I often wonder why the International Redcross hasn't visited any of the prisoners al queda held before beheading? It will be interesting to see what kind of due process the Russians give them when they find them.

Because the US is the largest military power in the world. We are an organized country and by lowering ourselves to the standards of terrorists we don't get any benefit, we only lower the entire world closer to the terrorists levels. We would only legitimize terrorist rather than keeping our prestige and honor.

Umm in case you didn't notice the world is up in arms about terrorists. It's kind of hard to hold them accountable for violating the Geneva Convention when you can't identify them. And they're criminals....do you think they're following anyone's law? I don't think so. If they were they wouldn't be doing what they're doing. The terrorists don't have to follow the Geneva convention smart ***. The convention only sets the rules for nations not rouges. Other nations don't get all up in arms about it because they don't want to draw attention to themselves.

one Americans don't follow the GC totally anyway. two many countries not in arms are giving arm to these terrorists to make some profit and political gain. three the GC was created to civilize war. we are not at war no declaration was made. and lastly instead of thinking why the terrorists aren't following the GC ask yourself why are they fighting in the first place

good point my friend,, i am like you sick of the P.C mob with all their complaints about whats right and whats wrong,
they should try living amongst people who have one goal in life and thats to kill as many soldiers as possible no matter what happens to them or their families,
our young soldiers are under extreme pressure in very dangerous circumstances and the rules for combat should be the same for both sides,,
if terrorists can behead innocents then surely we should be allowed to behead terrorists
the peace campaigners should crawl out of their middle class houses and visit these places i am sure they would change their idiotic views very quickly
having said that i am all for peace but not at any price,,
