I was in the same boat and if you follow a steady workout routine and diet it will help. This is what I do:

First you need to cleanse your system about 3-5 times a month. The average adult carries between 7-45 pounds of waste in their intestines. This is where you will have trouble with the poochy stomach. Go to www.juicing.com and read about cleansing and colonics. It will shock you.

2ND keep a steady diet. Eating 3 meals a day with snacks in between is what you are supposed to do. But it does matter what you eat. You can't eat fast food or 2000 calorie meals and expect to loose weight even if you work out. Read all labels and count your calories. Eat lots of fruit and veggies. It also depends on your current weight and height. For example I am 5'2 and I was at 168. I am now at 150 and my calorie intake is no more than 1200 a day. I went from a size 12 to a 7 in 3 months. And don't always weigh yourself because while you are working out you also gain muscle which is heavier than fat.

If you don't want to join a gym, there are so many things you can do at home. Swimming is the best workout for your entire body. I mean swim, not just splashing around. For the arms try to do as many push-ups you can when you wake up and before you go to bed.

I have struggled with my weight for years and have been on every stupid diet there is. But the only thing that is working is eating right and constant exercise.

Good luck to you, I hope this helps. Also go to ediets.com they have great tips.

PS. The special K diet is a crock. You can eat any cereal for 2 meals and lose weight.

Sometimes keeping a food diary can help. Sometimes we don't remember how much we have snacked on during the day. The food diary can help you see if you are snacking excessively or help you see a bad habit.

If snacking is your problem you can look into a couple of options. You can cut down on your snacking or plan for healthier snacks. Don't drastically change your diet unless you know that you can stick with it. Otherwise you just gain all of the weight back because you go back to old habits. Just change a little at a time. Try having two "healthy meals" a week. Something as simple as having grilled food, instead of something fried.

Also, to lose weight you really need to do some type of exercise. Find something that you enjoy doing. You will be more likely to stick with it. Maybe walking, swimming, yoga, dance, aerobics. Just whatever you find interesting. If you bore easily you may want to try doing more than one thing. For instance, walking with friends on Monday and Wednesday, yoga on Tuesday and Thursday. The next week try dance on Mon. and wed. and aerobics or Tues. and Thurs.. You just have to find what works for you. The most important thing is to keep it fun and interesting. Take time and try some new things!

I hope these suggestions were helpful. Good luck and just keep the faith in yourself. You can do it. You just have to decide that you are ready to.

Walking will help you lose wieght in the same way a single bullet pistol will help you win a war.

There are no miracle foods for losing weight. The main trick is to speed up your metabolism, thats the rate at which your body burns its fat into energy. Wear yourself out as much as you can, any way you want, and I promise you will lose weight. Swimming, JOGGING, sex, anything that will make you very tired. And do a lot of it. The more the better.

Losing weight means you need to burn more calories than you take in. Walking two miles may not burn off enough calories because you may eat more than what it burns off. If you eat about 1600 calories a day, and exercise about half an hour a day, you will see good weight loss.. that means about 400 calories a meal with two 200 calorie snacks.. its ok to eat throughout the day because it stablilizes your blood sugar, just make sure your overall intake of caloreis isn't too high. eat alot of fruit and veggies because they fill you up with very few calories.. make them a part of every meal

try eating four to five small meals a day. this is supposed to keep your metabolism burning to help lose weight. also try doing a little higher level of cardiovascular excercise such as a eliptical trainer, or tread climber, which will burn more calories then walking. the last thing would be to substitute fruit or 98% fat free popcorn for all the snacks with a lot of sugar, and dont forget to drink your six to eight glasses of water every day. good luck.

Have you ever heard of Herbalife. It's a meal replacement plan. You drink two protein (delicious) shakes a day, they give you lots of good quality protein, vitamins, minerals...so you don't have the munchies in between meals. Once a day you eat a healthy meal. You also take supplements that help boost your energy, burn fat and keep you satisfied on the diet. It's great. I've used it and now continue to drink one shake a day to maintain my healthy weight. And the best thing is, I didn't have to exercise to loose the weight. Now I do, because it's more fun when your in great shape.

Sounds like you need to do toning work. some light weight training, crunches, squats etc. Firm, & flat sound like toning issues. Tammy lee Webb has a tape that does arms, abs, and legs at two different levels (beginner & advanced) and they are about 15 minutes a piece you can do one or all three. I believe it's called "I want that body"

I've been told (after two kids) South beach Diet will help with the belly fat. Cut back on the pastas, potatoes, etc..

Ok. This is what you want to do. Keep exercising. Cardio should be your new best friend. Next, 2 meals a day isn't going to cut it. Snacks are great, lea4rn how to use them. Eat six small meals a day. Try and drink a gallon of water a day. Special K works because you are adding small meals to your diet. Nothing in the world (i dont care what they say) can burn fat in a specific area of your body. You need to shrink the fat cells in your body and that is how you look smaller. Lots of cardio, lots of water, lots of small meals. Do some crunches and you will do great!

Count calories. The only way to burn fat is for your body to burn more calories than you take in.

Build muscle, muscle burns calories and fat, so the more muscle you have the more fat you can burn. It doesn't have to be bulky-body-builder muscle. Lean muscle burns fat also. . . you just have to work your muscles, especially in the areas that you want to tone up. . .

You should aim for six smaller meals a day, this can include snacks. This will also help to keep your metabolism going throughout the day. As far as the snacks are concerned. . . snacks are okay, you just have to choose them more wisely, avoid sweets and chips. . . and stuff like that try carrot sticks and celery.
