I know many people feel ambivalent about this question. But will it lead to blindness, or will the lenses tear? Just wondering.

You are more likely to loose the lenses in your bed, have them be damaged or to develop eye infections if you sleep with contact lenses in. It doesn't take long to take them out and it is worth the trouble.

If they are extended wear, its safe. But if they're just normal contact lenses, like mine, it can lead to an eye infection. I don't think it can lead to blindness, but it might. Don't risk it.

No, it's not safe. It hurts your eyes, not just the contacts. Take your contacts out at night! You sleep with a foreign object in your eye if you keep them in all night long (that's 1 reason it's not ok).

It Depends on what kinda contacts you are wearing, but if you are wearing normal ones then its not safe and its not dangereous, your eyes will be really Red and irritated in the morning, and when you try to take the contact off it will be hard to do since its kinda stuck to your eye extra hard.

Mine are extended wear, and I sleep in them sometimes. It makes my eyes feel dry and crappy the next morning, though. My dad is an opthamologist, and he said as long as I didnt make a habit of sleeping in them a lot, then its fine.

contacts nowadays are being mfrd so thin and breathable that oxygen gets to the eye and you dont feel discomfort. i wear mine for extended periods of time and even sleep with them, but make sure they are soft contacts.
