In God's NAME more people have been murdered, exterminated, and slaughtered. However, you must remember that PEOPLE killed these people; God did not. People have a tendency to think that they are right, because they are stubborn and self-righteous. They may think that God wants them to kill a certain group of people, but their logic is flawed. They simply want to think that they are doing God's will... they want to think that so badly that they DO think it. Individual people, in general, want to be perceived as having morals; they don't want others to view them as inherently "bad". So instead of going out and commiting genocide, they convince themselves that God hates a certain person, race, or nation. They use that conviction to incite others to join a Holy War. They just don't realize that it's an unholy war.

Think about the terrorists that flew planes into American buildings...in the name of God. The Janguweed Army in Darfur, Sudan killing non-conformist Africans....in the name of Alllah. The Israelis and Palenstinians killing each other for their country...and GOD. Suicide bombers taking lives...in the name of God.
The evil? The hatred that people let seep into themselves.
Hatred fueled by Satan - Lives taken with God in mind.

God, but men can use any name to fuel their selfish greed and ideologies so people could kill somone in your name even if you try to teach them otherwise. Satan, is a deceiver and he tries to paint God has the evil one.

This leads to a fancy theological term important for us to understand. The term is theodicy, and it means, basically, "the justification of God." It's not justification in the sense that humans are justified (pardoned from sin) but justification in the sense of vindication. Theodicy is the vindication of God's goodness and justice, despite the existence of evil. Here is the foundation of the great controversy: God's goodness and His justice will be revealed not just before human beings but before all the onlooking universe.

God's name, hands down! There may be an argument that it was Satan , But the question is 'In God's name'. Not that God made horrible things happen. The Crusades, the inquisition, all through history, murder, war and the slaughter of innocents has been and is today is by people who say God is on their side. Even Hitler did what he did because 'God" was with him.
Witches were burned in Salem. Our children. are dying in Iraq. We are bombing babies and civilians. Young people are blowing themselves up for Allah. God wins?????

How about this:

Satan's PEOPLE used the name of GOD to kill more people "in God's Name" rather than blame it all on Satan himself... After all, Satan's quite a crafty old soul now, you know.

Does that sound logical enough for you, too? Heck, it sure makes a LOT OF SENSE to me.

Peace be with you!

Definitely God's. But answer this. Is the world fallen and diseased because God influenced humanity toward evil or because Satan did?

It's hard to say. If you check the old testament in the bible, many, many people have been killed. That's not including religious fanatics who CALL themselves bringers of the word of God, or whoever they're calling themselves these days. You know the ones, who claim God told them to do it, so they go out and kill people and use God as a crutch or excuse for their behavior.
So, it really depends on what you're talking about. Do you mean people killed in the bible? Or people killed through others CLAIMING God told them to do it?
