Is it fun to have braces? My friends who have had braces all say its fun. Is it? I have not had them but i might need them in the next year. If u have or have had braces..can u tell me about them?..care....fun...cost...?

I'm an adult who has braces. I've been in them for two years now and whoever told you they are fun is LYING! They hurt when they get adjusted. They cut into your lips and gums. It's hard to brush your teeth, but you have to be really diligent about it. Braces suck... but theyare worth every bit of hardship you have to go through. I went my whole life with crooked teeth and I'm so glad I got braces. Even though I had an appointment this morning and my teeth are sore, I'm still glad I have them... but they most certainly are NOT fun.

well, they aren't the best thing to have in the world, but they do fix your teeth. braces are very expensive, they can be up to $5000. If your parents have a good dental plan, then it should take some of the cost off for you, but you still do need to pay some of it. braces hurt for a few days, when you get them on, and when you get them tightned, and they do take a few days to get used to, but it's not that bad once you are used to them.
I have braces now, and I have to brush really well both morning and night, and i floss everynight. You do need to make sure you brush well, because food gets stuck in the braces, and that can cause cavities. Also, you should always clean your teeth well, because sometimes, what happens is when people get them off, and they havent cleaned well, they have white squares on their teeth, and that doesnt always look so attractive.
You have to be a little more careful with what you eat, because if you eat something really hard, it can break a bracket, and you have to get it fixed, but if it does happen its nothing big, it doesn't hurt, but you just need to get it fixed. When you get braces, your dentist will give you a package of what you shouldn't eat, and how to brush proproly.

i had braces when i was in high school and NO it is not fun. they cut into your lips, which really hurts, and you have to go to the dentist once a month, i dont know about you but i HATE going to the dentist. plus you have to worry about checking your teeth after you eat so that you dont have food in your braces. it is not fun at all but its worth it in the end because you will have nice teeth.

well, it is fun to see your crowded smile become perfect but thats all the fun it really was because the care of your teeth does take 4 times longer and you have to disrupt your life to go to the orthodontist office at least 1 to 2 times a month.
it is a pretty expensive fun thing too costing approx. 5000 dollars but it is definitely worth it if you have alot of crowding and your teeth are hard to clean as they are.

hahaha oh wel! i have already them like from 2 - 3 months ago.... its not cute at all! at the beggining they bother alot in your mouth (because its moving your teeths) buttttttt the good thing is that after pretty short time you will not even think about them! i just need like a year and someting but now i see the difference (its big) it makes urself feel lot BETter and the prices depends on which type you want... but this is bs... because at the final it makes the same work... and i recommend you to use the metal type.. not the transparent (invisible) or ceramic type... those are **** expensive.... i alrady told u... same work for less... ;-)

um no its not freakin fun to have braces i have to brush mine 5 times a day 3 minutes and at nite i have to floss use a special brush brush regualy then use floride.. they are no fun and suck (i got mine on yesterday) and mine cost almost 5000$ dollors (that includes retainers, braces, doc visit, etc.

Braces are only fun, because you can then stick a tater tot to each tooth, and walk around like mr. tater tot mouth.
