Ok, thanks to all that responded to my first question which was why was she coming back to front porch, but running away when door opened etc.. Well, after a few weeks, and cleaning up 5 or so dead birds left on front porch, which im sure she did, I have not seen her since. Food left out, spca trap, nothing. A week or less later I get a call from a gentleman , in his late 40's and on my cell voice mail, number/ id blocked he simply said, " my condolences, your cat was hit by a car today. Sorry but atleast you know her whereabouts. " I got a bad feeling he was lying from the start. He blocked his number, didnt say he or who hit Tori, and come on, what did he do, run her over, go buy the paper, find the add and then call. He even said the apartment complex location. I think he was trying to lure my girlfriend over alone and god know from there. I knocked on doors for a few days and none remembers a cat being killed. I wonder if some sicko just gets kicks out of that. any thoughts?

does your cat have a tag on it, that might be how he called you. Also if some guy found your cat or hit it, the nice thing to do would be to look through the classifieds and try and find out if anyone was missing a car to let them know. You cat has been gone for several weeks, my guess it is either dead or not comig back, or possibly taken into someones home who will actually care for it. Anyways the sicko here is you for being a negligent pet owner.

More than likely it wasnt a prank, because first of all you say he might be luring your gf over alone. How does he know she will come alone? And second if he didnt give an address, how do you know where he would stay. Alot of people live in those apartments im sure of it. The guy probally did run over your cat and was informing you so you would know what happend. He may not of even been the one to hit it, maybe he just saw it. If he is telling you the truth, atleast he is nice enough to let you know so you wouldnt be worried about your cat.

if you know where he lives call the shelter or the police and say you think this guy has your cat and that you are scared to go over there alone. DO NOT GO OVER THERE!!!sorry to say, but he just might be a sick bas*tard or he may actually have her or has done something to her.(shudder!) keep trying whatever you are doing and hope for the best. you have check with the local shelters right? they dont have her? i would put flyers up all around your neighborhood nd the where ever this scum lives. you never know someone may have her or she has accidently been shut in somewhere. you can even ask you local vets/grocery stores/pet stores if you can put up picture flyers and put "reward" on them. don't put an amount, but have smething ready incase someone calls. if you have to go and pick her up have a male friend go with you(the bigger the better) always trust your instincts, we have them for a reason and if something seems fishy then it probably is and you should stay away.

Billy boy, I think you have a calling as a Hollywood screen writer, quite possibly paper back.
Your story is quite touching based on all the positive feedback you received, ah but I smell deception here.
Getting a call from a mystery man, blocking his number, his age to be in the late forties, apartment complex, trying to lure girlfriend.
There just seems to be too much information here to be believable. but it's a good story, you should use your talents and write some short stories

Well, sometimes even if a person doesnt block there number, it wont come up anyway. That is a wierd story, the guy seems wierd though since he didnt leave a number or any other details, you should set him up somehow, see if he is a wierdo and is trying to lure your g/f over.

Well, im very sorry your cat is missing. That would drive me insane. He probably was lying, for some sick reason, but dont have a clue as to why. Tori probably got taken in by another family who is taking care of her. We just took in a gray and white cat and we dont know if he had previous owners but nonetheless we still love him and wouldnt want to give him up if someone came looking for him. It sounds mean I know but when you love an animal its hard to give them up.

it seems to me that you figured it out by the details of your question. keep looking for Tori, she probably is around. the man's annonymous behavior tells me he is lying. you might want to try looking in warm comfy spots. once i lost my cat for four days and apparently she had just nested atop my closet where i stored old sweatshirts. i think your cat is too old to nest because of pregnancy so maybe (and i am sorry if it is true) she is looking for a warm comfortable place to pass away. Tori might've been ill last time you saw her. i hope i am wrong cuz i know how hard it is to lose a pet and not know where it is.

I am so sorry.Maybe he is just lying.Does he know what your cat looks like?If he doesn't than he's lying of course or maybe he just ran over another poor cat.Just go to the location were he said and ask the people who live there questions.Hope I helped.

I guess it's possible that he ran over the cat and wanted you to know, but didn't want you to know who. In case you sue him or freak out on him. It wouldn't be much work, after you run over a cat, to find out who owns it (from posters or newspaper ads). Same amount of work as if you found a lost cat and tried to find the owner.

Lure you? Did he give you his address?

I'd say it's more likely that he saw your ad, and decided to play a trick on you.
