Why is it so hard to let go of past relationships especially when you know it was all bad for you anyway. HOw do you just let go and move on with out all the hurt?

Sometimes, letting someone go from a bad relationship can extremely difficult, because you will never forget how the relationship went. I held a grudge against someone who took advantage of me, because the only thing he loved about me was my wallet. Why would I be interested in being in a relationship with someone who doesn't love me back? I had NO CHOICE but to let him go, because nothing good came out of it, anyway. I had to learn how to forgive myself, because I know it wasn't my fault, and I played myself for a fool. I'm already in a decent relationship with someone else, so there's no telling how much that person hurt me. I moved on with my life, and its wonderful.

well im guessing you had a hard time breaking up with these people because if it wasnt, it would be a lot easier to let go and still possibly be friends. this has happened to me a lot! in almost all of my past relationships, my ex and i broke up in a bad way (e.g. fighting or it just wasnt mutual [i still had feelings but they didnt]) and so we never became friends and it was just that much harder to let go...
in very few of the relationships where i still talk to my exs, we broke up in a semi-mutual way and so it was a bit easier to let go.
the easiest way to let go and move on is to find someone else; someone better suited for you that makes you happy and will make you forget about the past and what happened before you were together with them.
