Go to the humane society or a local pet shelter....try to find one there first because those dogs get killed if they don't find a home

Definitely www.petfinder.org. They are a search engine for animal shelters all over the U.S. They are packed with pitbull and related mixes, and the chances are pretty good that you can find a puppy.
There's no reason to go to a breeder when you're looking for a dog that's so common in shelters. Especially because breeders will want hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for a purebred puppy.
It sounds like you just want a pet, so get one from a shelter!

There really are lots and lots of pits in shelters. People buy them because they think they are "cool" to have, and then realize that they are hard work. So, they just dump them. Or, they breed a litter because it would be "fun", and then realize that the market is too saturated with them and the puppies don't sell. So, they dump them. It sucks to be a popular breed. Check out http://www.petfinder.com There, you can search for shelters in your area. You might even find a very young one...
Otherwise, search for *reputable* breeders in your area. Someone with a long history of breeding and showing these dogs. Not fighting with them, mind you. Showing them. Learn what questions to ask them, and make sure that the dogs is healthy and of good temperament... That is essential. Happy searching!

Well when ever i go to the animal shelter there are always a bunch of pitbulls (all ages). You could try a shelter or pound, petfinder.com, a newspaper, or try and find a breeder.

Raise them right with lots of love and you will have a great, loyal, pet!

TRY CRAIGLIST IN YOUR AREA.
NUMEROUS PLACES TO FIND A PUPPY OF ANY BREED.
