I'm been thinking about it lately and may give it a shot but i'm not sure if its worth the possible problems that could occur.

I think friends with benefits is a good thing. Alot of people are afraid of committments these days. As long as everyone knows the rules then there should be no hurt feelings. If one person has stronger feelings than the other than that should be discussed so that no one gets hurt. i have had many fwb relationships over the years and have never lost a friend because of it when you both know the scoop. But there are also peolpe who are my friends who i would never sleep with because i would lose that friendship. Everyone concerned has to know the rules. We all have needs and sometimes need that itch scratched.

Yes it works

Yes it can blow up in your face

The key that BOTH must have a complete understanding about what it is. Many times one person is really looking for something more and has high hopes that this will be the start of more. This happened to me twice and I lost a couple of friends and got a stalker and a b**ch. However, I have had several (4 I think) great FWB. Full of laughter, nakedness, swimming pools, jacuzzis, and more comfortable nakedness. One that I never ever will forget! But that story is a bit much for this forum.

Good luck!

It works. It can actually work better than all-out dating. One thing I'll say is that you have to understand the expectations of the relationship.

With one I got, I spent a LOT of time developing my social and dating skills first, so I was able to deal with any drama that came up. There were about one or two blips and that was it.

If one of you develops stronger feelings than FWB feelings, then you have to at that point, reassess whether you want to continue at the current level, or elevate it. ALL relationships succeed or fail based on the level of expectations of both parties. If they are in agreement, then any relationship, no matter how unusual or normal, will work.

First of all - if he was a TRUE friend he wouldnt want to just roll in the hay with you. He would want something a little more fulfilling for you.
A TRUE friend would want you to be happy NOT used for sex. But on the other hand - do you both have the same feelings. I have known many best friends in my day that have gotten married and are still together. No matter who it is Hun - dont be used.

I have and it is great if you can find someone mature enough to handle it. In my experiences, most people think they can and then realize that it is not as easy as it seems. You have to remain strictly physical and not attach feelings and emotions to your actions. There is nothing better than friends with benefits if you can find the right person.

They usually ends-up as a girlfriend or boyfriend situation. It is hard to keep it just friends if you are sleeping with the person. At some point jealousy come into play.

i think most guys live for that style of friendship, but someone is bound to get hurt.it's not always the girl.it happened to me you either end up not being friends after the "breakup" or you feel awkward when you see the other person with another "friend w/ benefits.however, everyone could use more friends

Definetly worth a try. You never know until someone causes you to see things in a different, maybe more exciting way.

It only works if both people are on the same page. However, often times one person gets feelings for the other and then you have drama.
