Are you sure it is a mosquito bite? It may be a spider bite. If you have insurance, you may want to call your Doctor for at least a phone consult. If you are a student, go see the school nurse or go to the student health center. Do you have other symptoms, like fever or discoloration in areas near but not directly on the bite area? If so you may need immediate treatment. See the following for more information: http://www.calpoison.org/public/spiders.html
Good luck.

sounds like your spouse would favor to work out a chairman. now and again a staph an infection sounds like a trojan horse/mosquito chew and the realm around the wound is purple, swollen and intensely painful. The MD can do a wound subculture only to rule out a staph an infection. even if it really is staph the realm gained't heal and the wound will strengthen in length. The MD will prescibe antibiotics if certainly it really is a staph an infection. good success.

put hydrocortizone cream on it, and if it still feels as warm and swollen in 10 or 15 minutes as it did before, keep an eye on it for a day and if it keeps swelling or feeling hot and painful, maybe u should need to call a dr. there's a possibility it's a spider bite that is just going to have to work its way out of your body, and that might take a day or two total, but if it turns black or skin crackles and gets oozy, get to a dr right away.

The swelling is probably from scratching it and if it is starting to get infected, it will feel warm. Don't press on it and avoid scratching it. Treat it like a bee sting. Clean it and ice it and see if the swelling will go down. If it is becoming an open wound or growing, see a doctor. It should be just a small pimple by next day, otherwise get medical help.

That's the normal process for it to be warm and swollen. All you can do now is use an ointment and let it heal by itself.

Hydrocortizone cream and an ice cube to reduce swelling. Something to get your mind off it. Like a nest of angry hornets.

You can always try a paste of water and baking soda. That might help draw out the stinger if it is still in you.
