Three questions:

1. Should they be here so the question even arises: NO

2. If someone is bleeding, or has a contagious desease should we turn them from the hospital: NO

[But I'm open to deporting them afterwards; my internal jury is still out on that one.]

3. Should they be able to cross the border pregnant, sit in a hospital parking lot until they go into labor and get free medical care [or other non-life saving care]: NO

My opinion on this is you still may not want to turn them away but definitely are within your rights to ask for proof of ability to pay and guarantees up front, JUST AS THE HOSPITALS ASK US. On this one, the post treatment deportation definitely should apply, in my opinion.

We have enough people in the US that we can't take care of already. I think that we need to get off our asses and help them. Not the illegal imagrants that slave away in fields or walmart, but our citizens who have no health care, or our neighbors that are forced to live in tents, or orphans that live in sheltars. If an imigrant is not a citizen but they are working then they should have a Visa... In that case they are not illegal and they can pay for freaking health care. I think a wall accross the bottom of the US is a wonderfull Idea.. Only let a person in if they have a Visa/passport.. And if they are too poor to afford one..... well, you don't see Denny's just letting people come and eat for free because they are broke do you?? I'm sick and tired of paying for someone else that does not contribute to have health care when I can't afford it for myself. If they want the American lifestyle then they can take the test and become Americans. but untill then, absolutely not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO! NO!! NO!!! They shouldn't even BE HERE!! I WORKED and I could NOT get any coverage! I've been on unemployment for a MONTH now and I STILL haven't even been APPROVED YET!!!! I was born and raised here and I got turned away from medical help while I worked and had no benefits. Sounds stupid, doesn't it?? When it happens to YOU, THANK BUSH!! (I agree with "fartman" - we can't get free healthcare in the name of 'humanity' , so neither should they!) There's plenty of AMERICAN CITIZENS who work and slave and can't get free healthcare, so to hell with those who don't even belong here! They'll learn about freedom - IT ISN'T FREE!!!

Since we keep calling this the land of opportunity, why don't we put our money where our mouth is. Immigrants are here struggling to have a better life. They see the value of this country.
I'm a college kid who lives from paycheck to paycheck but I'd be happy to help out a poor family looking for hope. They have it worse off than me and it would make me feel good.

Well,I don't think they shouldn't be turned away if they need help and can't pay for it.Maybe they should do what they do when your in a an accident. They file a hospital lein, that way if you get any kind of money from the accident the hospital gets their cut first. They can put a lien on the illegals property.
(And you ppl say I'm stupid, please!)Thats a brilliant idea.

i trust that health care experts are extra or a lot less sure by utilizing oath to render existence saving information. that does no longer advise prolonged health care and use of mattress area in american health centers. It receives complicated. What can we do for instance even as someone has a significant heart attack right here, we get them stabilized right here...then who's to blame to shipping them homestead? who's to ensure that a facility of their own residence is provided? If no longer then what? we may be able to no longer enable illegals to bleed our equipment to lack of life, yet what can we do in circumstances like this?

Absolutely not. If they are here illegally, then why would we want to supply them with free healthcare? We need to take care of our own!

no. we need to cut like 60% of the freebies people are standing in line for, all that does is build up more debt, eventually we'll have 25% sales tax to pay for all this crap like in some other countries.
America's already over-extended, it's time for some of our politicians to step up to the 'mic and declare The End Of The Free Ride, here...

The answer is not a simple one because the effect would be that contagious diseases left untreated would trickle into mainstream society and perhaps causing unnecassary epidemics. It sounds unfair to those who bear the costs of medical care but we have to consider the effects before we start shooting from the hip.
