Depends on the ape.

Chimps can have truly black skin (not dark brown but black) or relatively light skin, or patches of both.

Gorillas have black skin.

Orangutans have dark reddish brow or black skin.

In humans the skin color is determined by only six genes and is too heavily influenced by environmental factors to be used for tracking lineages of people.

I don't think anyone has ever tried to shave an ape (a live ape) without some tranquilizer darts. Then again, what kind of perv would want to shave an ape in the first place?

The same color as their hands and feet that are not covered in hair. An ape is pink kind of like a white human and a gorilla is dark brown / black kind of like a black human.

I think a chimpanzee would be flesh coloured since you can see light skin in a lot of places. It would tan and become a bronze colour or darker.
