I don't think that there really is an age limit on marriage or love, but I would suggest that you at least wait until you are 18 so you can know for sure. You never know what can happen, I know exactly how you feel, and I'm not trying to scare you nor am I trying to say that this will happen to you, but when I was 16 I was madly in love with my ex. We wanted to get married and everything but then things changed, I grew up and he didn't, we were on separate pages in life to the point where we weren't even in the same book. So I say that maybe you should wait until you are 18 and if you feel the same way when you are 18 go ahead and get married!!!! Good luck with everything!!!!

Yes Sweet Heart, your Dad is right. Think of it this way. You get married - have kids-HAVE to be TIED down to them and THEN you meet the man of your dreams. It's Divorce Time - Custody of the kids - lots of court rooms and heart ache. When all you had to do was have some faith in your Father - who loves you more than life. He is right Honey, at 16 you dont know who you want to spend the rest of your life with. My God if you look at the numbers people of the ages 25-35 are getting divorced like crazy! Meet your Dad in the middle - stay engaged till your 21. If it is for life then you'll still be together and everyone will be happy. If your not still together then Dads The Hero!! Win - Win. Stay true to you. At such an age you dont even know what likes and dislikes you have. Live a little before you put the brakes on your life. Because thats what you do when you get married. You settle into a life and live it. Do the Career before the marriage. I PROMISE you'll be glad you did.

Legally, 16 is too young in almost every state...

Emotionally, that's tougher to say. At 16 you have had an awful lot of new emotional experiences. Some may have been wonderful and some may have been... well.. not soo wonderful... however... bear this in mind... at 16 there are still many experiences that lay before you.

I'm sure you believe you are in love, and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise, however, I think you should allow yourself time to grow and experience life. There is no need to get married right now... if you two are meant to be together, then taking time to get to know each other, and yourselves as individuals will only strengthen your bond.

Absolutely. I've been married twice, once at 22 and once at 27, and I was too young both times. Take your time. If he truly loves you, and if you trulyu love him, then you'll still be together at 18, 21, and 25. Then get married. Cheers, though, and whatever you decide, I hope it works out for the best.

people cannot put an age on things these day becase times are not the same. if you want to get married and have your priorities straight without your parents , meaning you can pay your own bills, and have a way to a from work then go for it.
