They might be essential in a certain time of life, but should not become a ever-lasting habit!

Rather go for mental training or therapy - or at least have a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax for a start. The self-healing power of the body and mind is boosted in an amazing way - and combined with some therapy there should be decent results.

Just - the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing approx. 220 dollars. It's worth travelling far.

I don't disagree with antidepressants. I think that they are a good step to improving your life. However I don't think they are the only step. Medication never cures a problem, just helps the symtoms. The cure is to find the problem in you that is the cause to this hurt. Since everyone is diffrent I don't know the answer for you. Perhaps some soul serching and therapy could help. If you ever wanted to talk, I could listen.

I believe that anti-depressants are a huge help if taken and monitored correctly. I'm bipolar and have taken numerous different meds over the last few years. A lot of them had adverse side effects, but by bringing those problems to my doctors attention, we made the adjustments. Any meds can be harmful if not taken correctly. These are no different.

I disagree with all antidepressants because I've been on them. For me, they don't work. The other issue I ahve is that depression could be indicative of other problems, but most doctors just want to put everyone on anti-depressants and we can all be one very numb nation. No thanks.

Well, Tom Cruise does! Seriously though, I've been on virtually every one on the market at one time or another and they haven't worked for me at all. For others though, they make all the difference in the world so I say, if they help, take them.

They honestly made me feel worse and I feel so much better now that I am not taking them. They are different for everyone though.
