Cutting is an acutal mental illness. So is self punishment. I implore you to seek out assistance.

This link will explain in detail the phenomenon of self harm and why people do it. It is not a healthy way to deal with your stress and pain, there are better ways and you must seek them out. Good luck to you.

I know what you are talking about. I am not a cutter but have had friends and know people who have been. People cut because it allows them to feel pain, it is a form of self punishment for some people, just like what you said above. Next time you feel like cutting, maybe try going out and doing something nice for someone. It may help you feel better and resist the urge to cut. We all have beautiful bodies and are beautiful creations, it would be a shame to harm yourself when you are so beautiful. Let the outside of you reflect the inside and try to refrain! Good luck to you with this, I know it is hard.

okay answers like the ones before mine are terrible advise to give to a cutter. You FOOLS. I cut myself a few times, i just liked to bleed, the best thing is to not do that, because that can be dangerous and lead to anemia where if you cut yourself you'll never stop bleeding. The best things is to try to tell yourself that you have done something wrong and think of a way to set it right. Cutting yourself won't do a whole lot of good, sweet pea.
hey if you ever want to talk about it with someone who has an open mind and understands email me at rkjackal02@yahoo.com

Cutting is a very serious condition and anyone who has this problem should seek help from a professional. Whether it be a Doctor, Physiologist, family member or close friend, you will need to talk to someone who will listen and sympathies with your sickness. Remember it is a disease and can be treated with the right help. Think about it...Your life is worth more than that.

dude don't listen to any of them
cutting is just a phase. most of the time you're able to grow out of it.
i cut, and a lots of times i tihnk i stoped, but then something happens and i do it again
people know i cut
i don't do it for attention.
i enjoy doing it and no one is gonna stop me.
i'm not gonna die of blood loss of anything. so other people should get a life
i have one and i'm doing whatever the hell i feel like doing with it.
you do so too. =]
but if you have a younger sibling or someoen who looks up to you, i warn you it's gonna hurt when you see them doing it too.
so becareful and don't put yurself under so much pressure.
i'll most likely edit this later, so just look for changes larter on today.
so far, i hope it helped =]

I'm not going to be as immature as the others who posted answers. You don't need help, however you should stop. If you don't want to then go ahead. fine by me, I don't know you thus: don't care about you. If I did care about you I would say: I helped a friend who was a cutter but she still devolved into EXTACY and raving, fortunatly that all stopped when she got pregnant (at 16). do you notice a downward trend? if you want to keep cutting do so, but never ever do extacy, it dumps all of your seratonin out of your brain and you will never be able to be happy or enjoy a good orgasm again. the end

I went through that as a teenager too, it is a form of self mutilation and you should really talk to your doctor about maybe getting on some meds to curb the behaviour. It is common in teenagers apparently.
I would talk to your doc , or a counsellor and try and stop doing this. It can lead to nasty infections and make you really sick.
All the best
