Believe it or not, nail polish, clear preferably. It cuts off the oxygen to the bite, which also happens to help contribute to the itching. Cut off air, stops the itching. I have used this many times, and it works every time. I have passed this to friends, and they use it on their kids also, which keeps them from constantly scratching the bites until they bleed.

When I walked through nettles with shorts on , I tried this;
I was next to the river so I slapped mud on my legs, I mean I plastered them real good. I then after a few minutes waded into the river and washed it off. Seemed to work very well. Course the cold water has the additional benefit of helping to reduce any swelling that may occur.

Try GoldBond anti-itch cream in a tube. It's supposed to work well. (I've included the link below).

Wet an aspirin and tape in on the bump. I read it in a magazine and they said it works really well. Though I've haven't got around to trying it yet.

I usually just itch it until it bleeds. I'd rather have a scab than an itchy annoying bump on me!

I put menthol alcohol on it. If you don't have any, try aftershave. don't worry if it twinges a bit, you won't feel any itches later. I get bitten a lot, and it really helps.
