I think for most of us it is harder to be polite to family because we assume our families love us unconditionally and we assume that they know us enough to know we love them even if we are impatient or rude to them sometimes. With strangers we try to make a good impression and put our best foot forward.

You know how they say you hurt the people you love the most. We should really be kind to everyone, it would go a long way.

I personally think it is harder to be polite to your family members because they are constantly criticizing me. For example, I am currently going to college and got my grades for the spring semester, 3 "A's" and 1 "B", my stepmom asked what kind of job I expected to get with those grades!! She got mad when I told her that I would get a job better than McDonald's which is where your daughters work at ages 30 and 26!!

for me....definitly my family. i am 13 and im getting into that "i rule the world and what i say goes" stage so i'm always getting in trouble by my parents, which causes me to get mad and i yell @ them. i have the toughest time being polite to them. and then i have twin brothers....so yeah. i know my parents will ground me if i'm not polite to strangers....but i dont have to live with strangers so i don't have a problem with that
