I have recently observed that when people go to the store to buy new clothes they always have to wash the clothes first before wearing them. Why do you need to wash them if they're already clean and new?

Some clothing is chemically treated to prevent insects from munching on them while being shipped and stored. Also dyes have a tendency to come out in the first washing, so it's a good Idea to wash just about anything you put next to your skin if you have any alergies or skin sensitivities. The rest is just hygene or hypochondria!

People wash new close because of the chemicals in the paints, alergeys to the new clothes, to shrink, and clothes also some times leaves its new color on you. Some times clothes are just too hard and crusty when new. People like their clothes nice and soft not stiff.

You should wash newly bought clothes, not only because people try them on, but also because there can still be dyes and chemicals, and dust from the cartons that you could allergic to, or which can irratate your skin.

You have to wash the newly bought clothes because if you are allergic to dust, your skin will be itchy. Besides, you must wash it to make sure that you will not get ringworms, or any other skin diseases. It's for your own good. Don't forget to wash them, ok?

Because if the clothes came from overseas then there is a chance that there could be snakes in the pockets. Accordingly, you have to wash the snakes out.

new, yes. clean, no. they've been sitting on a rack touched by dozens of hands when they're not sitting on a dusty rack in the backroom somewhere. also, there are things like dirt, fabric strands and general dust that accumulates from storage, shipping and clumsy employees who drop them on the floor. next time you buy a pair of jeans, reach in the pocket and see what you find. you'll be surprised.

Do you know who tried them on before you? I don't.

Not only that, but sometimes, the dyes used can bleed onto your skin, so washing them first prevents this.
